So my cat has a second family..?

Question

I have 4 cats, one old cat (1), one younger cat (2), one young cat (3) and one even younger cat (4)..

The eldest and youngest cats are girls and the others are guys (and they all got castrated)

Cat 1 used to hate cat 2 but now they're OK

After i got cat 3, cat 1 acted like cat 3's mother and cat 2 acted like cat 3's best friend/brother or something...

Then we got cat 4 and in like one month cat 1 didn't care about cat 3 anymore and cat 3 didn't wanna play with anyone but cat 4.

Cat 4 didn't wanna play with cat 2 at first but after a while she played with all cats (except for cat 1 because she's old and doesn't like playing)

Cat 3 acted like cat 2's dad, and cat 2 acted like cat 1's best friend/brother, again

So cat 1 didn't play with anyone

Cat 2 only played with cat 4

Cat 3 played only with cat 4 (and maybe sometimes cat 2)

Cat 4 played with cat 2 and 3

But after a while cat 3 stopped like, making the sound when we pet him, and he didn't want to get pet anymore..

He also stopped playing with cat 4.

We thought it was just a phase or something..

Then he started going outside and only came back home to eat and sleep.

We got him castrated because we didn't want him to stay outside and get hit by cars or get into fights with other cats (he's really inept and weak so he would easy lose a fight or fall out a tree...)

He stayed home for like 2 days, but then started going outside again..

Sometimes i saw him go to the neighbors, but i thought he was just passing by there to go to the woods (there's a wood very close to my house)

But like 2 weeks ago, we saw him at the neighbors, rolling on the ground, paying with the neighbor's cat and letting himself get pet by the neighbors...

We were always very nice to him, we pet him all the time, but even though he doesn't like us..

I think he left because he gets better food there (he's like, the most greedy, hungry cat i ever saw.. including Garfield!)

Is there something i can do to get my cat back?

HE IS STILL YOUR CAT.  

LET THE NEIGHBORS LOVE YOUR CAT AS WELL,

AS THEY SAY...... IT IS ALL GOOD

NOTHING IS BROKEN HERE.....

It's possible that with 3 other cats in the home with him, he isn't getting (or he feels that he isn't) the amount of affection and/or attention that he needs.  It's also possible that he does not feel comfortable with your cats and likes the neighbor's cat better.  Perhaps if you try to give him more attention (and not necessarily affection), maybe play with him, brush him, talk to him, he may come around and want to be with you more often.  Although it's tough with cats.  His heart may already be with the neighbors and he may wish to stay there.
