I am more passionate about St Jean de Baptiste but wanted to wish you a happy Confederation day. How will you celebrate?

  1. I am taking my Granddaughter to the Canada Day celebrations in Trenton. We will go on some rides, eat some sugar, look at some animals and watch the fireworks at the end of the day.

I will probably thank a Canadian Forces member for just being and say a prayer for some of my friends who are serving with NATO in Afghanistan. At the end of the day we will sit on our back deck listening to the evening bird song and watch for deer and wolves and other animals to wander by. Give a little prayer to the Power Greater than Us who made all this possible and remember those who are no longer with us.

How do I remember the difference between Canada Day and July the Fourth. I used to live in a border town. July 1 was a day for family and the beach (all the stores were closed). July 4th was a day for shopping all the sales were on.

Every 5 years an organization of which I am a member has a world conference on July 1-4th. In 2010 I will be celebrating in San Antonio Texas. See you there.

  2. I'm American, but I love Canada.  So when I go out later, I'm gonna wear my Montreal shirt!  :-D

  3. celebrate my birthday which is on Canada Day

  4. I live in both Canada and America the only thing i really get from the 4th of july is how, my fellow canadians burned down the white house and had the americans running but we decided to go back home and get drunk. So i think it was either worth getting drunk and we (canadians) should all get drunk on the 4th of july.

Why is this in the hockey section?

Anyway Canada Day which is today, I plan to get drunk, do something stupid and blame a french guy, Keeping the tradition alive ^_^

Yeah no offense to anybody eh all good fun mates.

  5. i live in america so no.

    BOOM

  6. Probably go to Eaton Centre for shopping. Or if we don't go just stay at home and continuously check NHL.com for updates on any free agent signings.

    Happy Canada Day!

  7. I'm working at my hobby job.

  8. Happy Canada Day!

I will be sitting at my couch watching TSN at 5pm.

After the trades are done I will party!!

  9. Having a cookout for some friends; sort of an annual tradition; the usual goings on- grilled meats and other foods, and perhaps a few beers at some point.  We used to go into downtown or the CNE, but the crowds are just crazy, so we hang out (half my street took off for cottage country last Friday though!).  We'll probably have a tv hooked up to TSN to see what 62-year old one-armed defenceman the Leafs signed to a 6-year contract.

When I lived in America, American Independence Day was much more structured but yet all the beer stores were open.
