so the car title is not in my name. He is insured and I am insured under my parens' insurance. My question is, will I get in trouble if the car is not under my name?

  1. you won't get into trouble if it is covered by all motorist coverage, that means anyone that drives his car by your insurance company if something should happen they will pay.

  2. Nope. As long as you have permission it's no problem. Even with coverage. Just don't p**s him off cause then he can say you stole it. And if something happens like an accident you are covered under both policys. Nobody will ask who's car it is unless there is an accident so don't worrk about it.

  3. the name on the title does not matter.

however, if you are borrowing it long term, you might want to get added to his insurance and pay the extra cost just to be safe.  at least have him call them to make sure it'll be covered if someone else drives it.

  4. Yes.

  5. No, as long as he gave you permission to drive it, it should be fine.

The title goes in the name of the owner, not the driver.

  6. Says, that's considered a stolen car.

lmao how do you think they catch car thieves? :P
