So need help with charlie horse?

Ive had charlie horses in my last pregnancies but this one is bad in the back of my calve I get one then my leg starts pulsating then a ch again about 5 or six times then my leg goes numb and then feels tight and hurts the rest of the day cant handle this anymore any advice

  1. have u tried peanuts? i used to have them and it helps quickly.

    mom to a 3 yr old- used to get charlies real bad-

Sounds funny but eat bananas...half to one whole one every day.  The potassium in them helps relieve cramps.  My son had super bad growing pains when he was young and this is what the doctor told us to do with him and it actually worked.  Also you could try a warm compress to ease the muscle tension and some light massage.  Other than that I dont know that there is much esle you can do.

  3. You either need more potassium or calcium.  My massage therapist explained that one controls the tightening of muscles, the other controls the relaxing (I forget which is which). Since you're probably taking extra calcium for the baby, I'd assume it's the potassium.  So, try a banana or some orange juice.
