So overwhelm, I cried! Need Help with buying a camcorder?

OMG! Theres the MiniDV, Digital, DVD, handycam CanconZR$*#!#**!AHHHHHH!

Which one is the RIGHT one! I just wanna record! and maybe take pictures with it(but able to see the image when indoors), edited on my PC to make music videos or whatever than burn it to a DVD to send to the family. I need that one camera with a reasonable price. Maybe around $200-$300

PS. I did the research. And Im still at square one! Please (sniff) Help me.

  1. Canon ZR family (ZR800, ZR900, ZR930).

    MiniDV tape will require a firewire port on your computer because you will transfer the video from the tape using a Firewire (IEEE1394A, i.Link - all the same thing) cable. If you don't have a firewire port on your computer, they are typically cheap to buy and easy to install.

    DO NOT BUY A DVD BASED CAMCORDER. There is no good hard drive or flash memory based camcorder in the price range you provided.
