I grew up going to church, my father was a deacon at the time. Hes a pastor now. I became a Christian at age 9. When I hit puberty hormones and rebellion took over. I probably had a more of a guilty concience about the things i was doing at times than i would have had I not had the raising I did, but I still did alot of things horny rebellious teenagers do. You cant lay it on her parents and this is a silly argument. All you can do is your best and hope your kids listen to you. I straightened up, and am now trying to teach my children the right way to go about things. I hope they listen. If they dont i hope they dont get hurt.

yes those are what is called family values. Your teenage daughter get pregnant and instead of turning your back on her or demamding an abortion, you show her love and support as a family. I had a baby when I was 18 and my democrat parents did not show me love and support and wish I would have had an abortion. Maybe I should switch sides and become a republican.

Parents try to do their best to instill good values and good behavior in their children. You question implies that those who make the effort, only to be disappointed by poor choices of their children are hypocrits, while those who hold no standards (and can't be disappointed) are somehow the "good guys".

Nobody knows if Bristol knew about birth control or not - perhaps the Palin's view was that it shouldn't be taught in schools, but is a family issue.  That's how my parents felt - they pulled me out of school s*x ed and sent me to a church sponsored s*x ed, where I learned about condoms (and their failure rate) along w/ IUD's, diaphragms, the pill, the rythm method and a few other options not generally discussed.

I think we need to leave this girl alone - she's not running for office.
