  1. "not been able to do their job" means its not doing what America wants it to do. The earth is America's. Don't you know that by now?

  2. The real question is what is the point of the United Nations.  If it is peace through diplomacy, they have failed miserably.  It it is ending hunger, they have failed miserably.  If it is relieving world suffering, it has failed miserably.

  3. When have they failed?  Sierra Leone, most of Bosnia, Somalia, currently Darfur, and the biggie is Rwanda.  The main criticism is that all they do is talk and dont really accomplish anything.  But, we do have to keep in mind that it is a very berueacratic and democratic organization, so it takes time to accomplish things, basically because the organization is just so huge.  Yes, their views and opinions may not be the same as the United States, but that is the whole point of the organization.  People often complain about how much the UN fails but do not take into consideration the progress that it has done.  It has all but stopped Polio, is helping millions to fight HIV, and has helped with development in many poor countries.  To the people who hate the UN: how would you solve these problems any better?

  4. certainly not cashing there pay checks taking bribes

  5. The genocide in Dar far, every time the nations wanted to punish Sudan, China would threaten to veto as they value the oil. It was only after the media was going to protest next years Olympics that they allowed a vote. They where going to be called the genocide Olympics. Rwanda was another example, everyone knew it was happening but did nothing.

  6. The US is the UN

Without us the UN is even more meaningless than it is now

  7. God! When the h**l are we going to get out of the "U.N.?"
