  1. It is possible the Wings would attempt to sign him. Some factors to consider....he did mention I believe in a Sporting News peice he would enjoy skating in front of family. He surely would consider a "hometown" discount offer from the Wings knowing the opportunity to compete for a Cup would be there. He fits the style of forward the Wings tend to favor, speedy with very good defensive ability to go with the obvious offense. I think a lot of people underestimate how brilliant Kenny Holland really is. Adding another "team" guy fits what Holland does and for all the people who cant get that the Wings dont buy championships they are way below the cap. Kennys brilliance isnt limited to talent, he is a cap master as well. With the salaries coming off the books and his cap management they can afford to sign just about anyone they want (can you say if not Rolston maybe Hossa). If he doesnt sign with the Wings (they have many options to explore) another good location for Rolston very well could be Calgary, they have cap room and a need to improve the offense. With Holland you never know, surely nobody thought they were in the running for Rafalski last season.

  2. NEW JERSEY

  3. I think he would be a great addition to the Rangers... I hope he comes here.  There were some rumors awhile ago, but I haven't heard anything about them recently.

He would give us a finisher for one of our centers, plus he would REALLY help our PP.

  4. This is something I could see happening.

    1.  Detroit has just under $40 million tied up for next year and almost a full roster.  That leaves about $16 million to round out the rest of the team.  They have to sign Filppula and Stuart or a similar defenseman, but those will be the only other semi-large contracts Detroit has to work on right now.  They can definitely afford Rolston.

    2.  I dont really agree with some that say that Detroits offense is set.  I still consider them to have average secondary scoring at best.  If Franzen didn't come out of nowhere and go on that crazy hot streak, Detroit could have very easily not won the cup.  I doubt that he can continue playing at that level and I really would not like to have to rely on it.

    3.  I have actually wanted the Wings to get Rolston for a while.  I think hes right in the perfect price range for what the Wings need.  He would fit into their system and really be a good improvement for the second line.

I'm not saying it will happen, just that it could.  It makes a lot of sense, but the Wings also aren't going to overpay him.  He will have to accept less money to come to Detroit than he would if he went else where, but it wouldn't really surprise me if he did considering he is a Michigan native.  We'll have to wait and see how things work out though.  He could still easily re-sign with Minnesota.

  5. old news. he allready said he was going to the new york rangers.

    BOOM

    edit-Pronger is Lidstroms daddy. BOOM

  6. wings probably don't have room under the cap space unless they make some trades, wasn't rafalski enough for the native bit?

  7. I am REALLY holding out for Brian Rolston to come to Tampa. He would perform GREAT with Steve Stamkos and Jussi Jokinen on the second line.

RYAN - Imagine that along with the MVP line!

  8. I hope the wings make a move.  But i would bet they would be more looking for a steady goalie this offseason, they already have steady offensive ability.

  9. Doubt its the Wings... if the Wings are in the market for anything, its a TOP4 Dman (if Stuart doesnt sign) ...a backup goalie... and maybe a Tough Veteran Grinder to replace Drake.

BUT, we all know that Kenny Holland throws us one surprise a year.

  10. When is there a UFA that most "experts" say isn't going to the red wings.  Although, to be honest, I don't think the wings need that much help

  11. Tough to tell where he'll go.

I'd like to see him back in Boston :], but most likely will not happen.
