  1. I agree with wuboy there that it is a fight, not a ju-jitsu match.  Laying there, smothering your opponent and trying to get the ref to stand you back up is a strategy but it is not fighting.  Ring generalship is the last factor you consider when judging a fight; even an MMA fight.  Who is the primary aggressor and scores the heavier blows along with who is scoring take-downs and being more aggressive once there on the ground is considered first when judging and scoring a round.

  2. No idea what your on about...

  3. I think it should be who ever is more active in their position gets the points. Regardless of top or bottom.

  4. Not neccessarily, but if he keeps dropping punches and elbows on the bottom guy it is a good position.

So often BJJ people forget that this is a fight, not a BJJ match.

  5. You got to remember a lot of fans don't understand bjj. I think thats a good thing don't you? They won't understand it when they get into a fight with you. Know what I mean. I think a lot of people don't understand bjj. They get the wrong idea and think there loosing when there chilling out or on there back. Like when i wrestled one of my friends and he got me in a chocke lock. from under me. I mounted him and just relaxed well my friends arm burned away. Since they saw me not moving they stopped the fight with out checking me out or asking any questions (they care i guess)

What this shows is that people don't undserstand bjj. It's a good thing for us bjj guys though
