Since the verse is in this particular context of fear of being injust to orphins and widows, does that make it haram to marry someone who is well off as your second wife?

I don't ask to start a polemic, but because my friend and I were discussing how more and more young girls in Algeria are looking for rich, already married men for a comfy life...

Is it haram, makrooh, or still halal?

  1. Halal

  2. sis, i think the providing for widows and orphans is the MAIN condition for a man to marry more than one.

This verse was sent down in time of war when many good Muslim men were killed. I think marrying another for any other reason is not right.

  3. I think it's right only if they get married with the permission of their 1st wife..otherwise it's wrong.

  4. For a man if [condition] can maintain more than one wife withall the just he is allowed to marry upto four. This is a permission islam ganted not a compulsion. There are many hikma behind it.But if the girls are marrying to become rich and want to live a high fi life no problem but they should be honest and loyal to this husband. N ot to have any other calculation to use the riches of the husband and to decive in him. INNMAL AAMALU BILNIYYATH.EVRY ACTION WILL BE CALCULATED ON THE INTENSION
