I know there has been discussion before about this topic but I think there may be some re-evaluations with Federer's early loss today. With that said, what do you think will seriously happen to him?

I never doubted him not being able to dominate the game still but after today's loss I am don't know any more. I kind of wanted him to go out with a bang. It's just so sad to see a great like him go down like this.

Oh yeah, vamos Rafa!

  1. i think just be there for him and he will be ok..

  2. I can't compare this implosion to any player of Roger's magnitude.

This is even worse than Borg.

The only possible limelight you can find here is Agassi.

Andre had two career highlights, not one.

From 1997-98 he effectively dissapeared from the stage of the ATP, in part to injury and in part to horrible play.

He came back in 99 and from 99-03 actually equaled the success he had in the period of 90-95.

    But I don't think that's Federer.

Then Again, Agassi played just as good from 29 to 34 as he did from 20 to 25.

  3. OMG  PLEASE so he loses a match every now and then.  It is not the end of his career.  He is not going anywhere.  So he had a bad day, we all get them

  4. i am said too because federer isn't lobger 1st but i think that federer will come back and be 1st the next season.

  5. oy veh.

  6. I agree with IDNS. I'm not a Federer fan (I don't like dynastys or ppl that always win) but it's not over yet. He is having a really disappointing year and sometimes I really wonder if this year is rigged.

He has just been loosing TOO much- it's crazy.

But I guarantee you he will be winning again. This early loss scares me though because you know he really is pissed and makes him even harder to beat in New York

  7. Federer have 6605 points now and Rafa has 6305 points now. 300 is the difference. But that is including last years Toronto series too which'll be taken out next week. At Cincenatti, Federer had 500 points to defend and Rafa had 5 points to defend. So Federer will have 350 points taken out from last years Toronto and will loose 425 points now ( - 775 ) from now. Rafa will loose 225 points from last years have already gained + 70 right now in thisyears Cincenatti. As the current gap is 300, Rafa will be # 1 if he reaches SF, no matter what happens in the OIimpics

  8. Well, Sampras won his 14th Grand Slam at a ripe old age of 32. Federer won 12 GSs in 5 years and is only 27. I think he can win at least another 2 in the next 5 years? One or two Wimbledons and probably a US Open. He will eclipse Sampras but just barely. He won't have 18 like most predicted at the end of last year. The mono/glandular fever has definitely set him back this year whether Roger admits it or not. More importantly, it gave others confidence that they can beat him now.

Roger will sniff No.1 again before bowing out of tennis (Rafa has a ton of points to defend next year) but a new era has officially begun..
