  1. haah honestly im kinda scared...but what can you do bout...just embrace and if something happens then it happens...i guess.

  2. I used to believe that, but then I remembered that the bible says that no one knows when the lord is comming again. So naw, it could be, and it prolly isn't. Nobody knows for all you knwo he might come in the next 5 mins.

  3. Obama will be re-elected.

  4. QEIIs Diamond Jubilee.

    U.S. presidential elections.

London Olympics (can hardly wait <sarcasm>)

    Erm...

Poland, Latvia, and somewhere else will start using the Euro.

Oh... and some asteroid's gonna miss us by 27,000-kilometres.

Weather:  mostly sunny, with patches of cloud and some rain showers tending to snow in higher altitudes.

    Have a nice day.

  5. A sixth grader started that.

If it was true, Bush would've told us...

    ...right?

  6. Possibly scientists have predicted that there will be a great earthquake in california and two asteroids (different times) will possibly collide. Other than that i will graduate from high school.

  7. Q:  What do you think is gonna happen in 2012?

A:  Nothing.  These people were calendar-makers but they were chipping away at stone, not computer generating their calendars. This is a very time-consuming task. Second, these people (like other people of their time who liked to star gaze and make calendars) couldn't care less about what was going to happen to an unknown people way in the 21st. Century. They were only concerned with their own affairs.

What must have occured was that worked ceased on their calendar on that particular date in 2012 for one of two reasons:

    1. They were overrun by enemies and had to stop working on their calendar on that date in order to head for the hills. Or:

    2. They were overtaken by plague or some other natural disaster when they reached that date in 2012 and so they had to stop working on their calendar in order to head for the hills.

In either case remember this very important fact: They failed to predict their own end (by assimilation) way before the year 2012. What makes anyone believe that they were able to predict our own end-times when they first failed to predict their own end???

  8. Just a myth..read Revelations.

And I DON'T care if the people on Yahoo Answers give me thumbs downs, but I have God and Jesus in my life,so I shouldn't be scared.

  9. I think about that too. I think the Mayans might have been on to something.

  10. 2012 will probably be just another year.

Ever since the 6/6/6 (June 6, 2006) End of the World scenario did not pan out, the scare mongers have been touting the 2012 End of the World scenario. When 2012 does not happen either, I am sure they will think of something else.

"But of that day or hour, no one knows, neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be watchful! Be alert! You do not know when the time will come." (Mark 13:32-33)

Jesus told us in no uncertain terms that we were not to know when the end of the world would come but that we were always to be ready.

Each new Christian denomination seems to worry about the end of the world a bit too much. Then after a couple of centuries, they realize that there are always wars and rumors of wars, etc.

I won't even mention the hundreds of false predictions of the end of the world over the centuries, all of which were based on individual interpretations of biblical prophecies.

The early Christian Church thought that Jesus was going to return at any moment. Only after a couple of centuries did the Church realize that it may be 2,000 or 4,000 or 8,000 years before Jesus returns.

The Catholic Church wisely follows Jesus' advice and teaches that each of us should live as if we will meet our maker in the next ten minutes and that we need to work to make the world a better place for our 100 X great-grandchildren.

Do not worry about the end of the world. Trust God to make sure everthing happens to plan. Just be ready to meet God at any time.

  11. 2012 is the start of it, it actually suppose  to be 2020 or something like that...

  12. its the end of wherever the meteor hits at least, other than that, i cant be sure

  13. i think that the summer olympics will be held in London

  14. If one actually takes some time to look into this, one will find the following:

    1. The Maya were great astronomers, since their calender is based on the natural and observable cycle of the stars and the galaxy.

    2. On or around the 21st of december 2012, the sun will be smack on the galactic center (as seen from Earth), as the plane of the path of the sun (the solar ecliptica) intersects the galactic ecliptica.

    3. According to their naturally timed calender, this marks the end of the interrim period (1987-2011), between one 26.000 year cycle and the next one, and thus the beginning of the next "age".

Now, these are the physical facts.

Does this have a deeper meaning consciousness wise? Well, the Maya thought so. The calender is based on snake-medicine, and takes it's archetypical from on earth from a certain kind of snake, Auyn Can, which changes it's fangs every 20 days, and has a pattern on it's back, that repeats 13 times. The pattern (on the back of the snake it-self), turns out to fit this structure of 13x20, and provides the matrix for the calender count. For more on this, look up books by Johan Calleman and Barbara Hand Clow.

(Here comes the short version to sum it up:)

So in a sense, it is the end of one world (age), and the beginning of a new. According to the Maya, from this day and onwards for a couple of thousand of years, the sun moves through (what I understand to be) a field line in the galactic magnetic field, which will bring along a lot of cosmic light-particles to bathe the solar system (parhaps we will have a cosmic/solar aurora borealis show, we will see :). This is what is called "the photon band".

Will this cause upheals? It might, it depends on our own choices, on how we choose to react to all of these things. Will we let fear rule our action - I think not. I think we are wiser - after the last 26.000 years of squabling over mates and bananas, I think we are ready for something else!
