Yeah, so somehow we managed to go out and beat the Irish at Twickers after their early 10-0 lead (...and what a game it was...Cipriani and Noon played beautifully...Matt Tait scored a sweet try...) and Brian Ashton was going on about how he has been a good coach and all that, but I CAN'T STAND THE GUY!!!! Grr...get us a good head coach! It was bollocks how he piled the blame of the Scottish defeat on Wilko...pretty low of him, and he just always seems too defensive and acts like 'I'm head coach, I'll do what I want, because I can!!'

Does anyone else still want him gone?

  1. The man you need is the coach of the Stomers -RSA s14 and backs coach for the RWC winning team.

With all the attention on the 6 Nations rugby being played it would be easy to miss a little game played down here in New Zealand over the weekend. Chiefs went down to the Stormers at home. Which is a rare thing.

Worth noting that Mr Gatland coached pretty much the same Waikato team to victory in the NPC last year - put a lot of effort into building strong defence - the blitz defence used so well to win the six nations (only two tries scored against Wales) was totally chopped to bits by the African's attacking patterns. (nearly 4 tries in the first 40)

Something the Bokke didn't even need to do at the world cup because England were so far behind the world champions tactically. That RWC pool game against RSA really highlighted how clueless Ashton and his staff were.

The gap between North and South is becoming ever wider, England needs SA, NZ or AUS professional coaching staff to help bridge that gap - especially now that Wales already has one of the best Southern coaches on the job.

God knows how the NH coaches will deal with the ELVs. The game is evolving fast - sad thing is that England have so much young talent going to the dogs.

  2. You need Warren Gatland but u ain't having him, he belongs to us now!!  =) JW did play pretty poor in that match but it's always the highest profiled player that gets a slamming when a team loses which is not fair. It was prob one of the most interesting matches tho because of that awful crack to the head from the knee - ouch!

  3. yup wales did great :) cymru am byth

  4. No , the definition of a good coach is one with good players.  Away to soccer wit ya.

  5. both ashton and o'sullivan have got ot go.who knows, england might be able to get gatland soon.the players might get too big for their boots and oust him, like they did mike ruddock

  6. well as an irish man it'll be a bitter sweet defeat for us, of course we never like losing especially to england, no offence of course, ye dont like losing to us either, but at least we can now sack our coach, ashton has bought himself a few more games....if it was the other way around and ireland had won i would probably be saying what your saying now...

Ashton was supposed to be gone after what was supposed to be a poor world cup, but unfortunately Sir Johny came to the rescue and brought england to their second world cup final in a row ( irronically the one man that saved ashton a few months ago was on the bench the other day!?)....All the English can do is hope and see if the RFU says "we're not taking that chance next year and put Shaun Edwards in"...at least ye have plenty lining up for the job, ireland are kinda stuck for someone to fill eddies seat

  7. Even though I am an England fan, I must say that Wales did great. Good Job Wales!!

I agree we need to get rid of Ashton. I saw an interview with him and somone mentioned bringing in a backup coach, and he got all defensive and said something along the lines of was he not good enough. It was really irritating, it made me want to smack him. England needs a new head coach.

    Let/make Ashton retire.
