So what's it like Surfing / KiteSurfing in Costa Rica?

I think I'm headed to Costa Rica in March for a week to do some kite surfing and just want to hear about anyone who has some experience there or has done it before... good places to go? cheaper to buy/rent there or here in the US? places to stay? college/young professional scene? I speak Spanish (the spain type), and want to meet maybe some tourists and definitely some locals. Thoughts? Thanks!
