So anybody know what the weather is like right now in Jamaica?? I was supposed to fly down today, flight canceled which was to be expected. We were only delayed a few hours but then it was canceled. Our next flight out is Sunday! I will make it down then but I was just wondering the weather conditions? If anybody knows that would be awesome! Sorry to all of those affected by this storm!

  1. sunny with a few showers here and there

  2. I've been there several times, and it is the same every time in the summer.

Great weather. 80F - 85F in the day time. 74F - 79F during the night. It will rain many days between 3pm and 5pm (just like Florida). You will get surprise rainfalls during the night or very early morning. The temperature may drop one degree when it rains. One hurricane usually hits Jamaica every year, sometimes two. Keep that in mind.

Oh, also, FYI--since Jamaica is relatively closer to the equator, there is little variation in when the sun rises and falls (dawn and dusk). Expect the sun to rise and fall around 6-7:30am/pm everyday, depending on season. Also there is very little variation between the temperatures during winter and summer. The temp varies by about two degrees, sometimes three. Summer is the cheapest time to travel to Jamaica.

  3. 84 degrees with the possibiltiy of thunderstorms

other than that its always hot around 80 degrees

  4. It was terrible last evening when the storm was passing...continuous wind and rain all through the night. It stopped raining after the system passed and it is clear now but I am expecting light showers tomorrow. It is damp here now as the soil (and some homes) are fully saturated. Persons who dont like the heat will like this temperature. You could google for the info as well....and the Jamaica Gleaner online will give you an idea of what happened. The airports will reopen tomorrow morning.

  5. Your delay was a blessing in disguise.  The weather is wet, but the countryside will still be beautiful.  The most important thing is your comfort and peace of mind.  You hairstyle must be no-fuss, cause the humidity will just curl it right up.  Depending on where you are going on the island will determine how much weather or result of storm you will have to deal with.  If you are going to Montego Bay or Negril, you will be least affected, because the roads are better.  Just make sure you bring something to cover you feet.  Enjoy--the wait will make it even more enjoyable.
