I have seen a number of news items and so forth of people being beaten up shot with rubber bullets and arrested for peacful protests

Pictures of the US now look like that of a Cuban airport

Free - speech zones and so forth

So are Americans no longer allowed to protest or march in their own streets ?

  1. No american's are allowed to protest peacefully. Just not hippy liberal people who would rather go to canada then serve their country.

  2. Getting slimmer all the time.  *sm*

  3. Oh I'm sure you've seen what the BBC reports as a peaceful protest where that can happen. The problem is, the BBC is lying about it. Peaceful protests are not bothered. Now then, the problem with "peaceful protests" is, some a**hole or group taking it upon himself to cause trouble and all you'll see on the news is that person/group going to jail with the reporter proclaiming it was just a peaceful protest.

  4. Chances are that if the police used rubber bullets and started arresting people, the protest was becoming "UNpeaceful" to some extent.  Just because you didn't see the "UNpeacefulness" of the protest in the news items doesn't mean that it didn't happen.  It just means that the news team that reported the story probably decided not to show it.  Not politically correct, ya know!

I would also say that the number of protests that end with the police having to move in are few and far between.

To have a protest without being gassed, shot at with rubber bullets or bean bags, or arrested, you only have to be an illegal alien protesting the laws of the U. S., or any other minority protesting the big bad white man's unequal laws, bigotry and racism.  Trust me - you won't be bothered AT ALL!

  5. Sure we are.  where did you see that?  If they are shooting them with rubber bullets, it's not a peaceful protest.  The anti0-abortion people demonstrate every year, and nothing ever happens.  That's in Washington DC, and they walk up the street to the Supreme Court building.  It's always been peaceful.

  6. Ok no offense, but if the Westboro Baptist Church can protest by celebrating the deaths of fallen soldiers at their funerals then I am pretty sure anything LEGAL will fly. If it gets out of order, h**l yes the police should beat the snot out of them.

  7. it's slim to none that you can protest about something with out being shot, but if it's something that you feel so strongly about and passionet about,  wouldnt you be willing to take ur chances?

  8. I haven't heard that happening in years. like in the 70s.  You need to do your reseach.

  9. Don't be a sensationalist.  Police only get involved in illegal protests (no permit when/where one may be required which is rare) and those that are vandalizing or being violent.

There are peaceful protests all day, every day, and of all types in America .  Look at the post below mine for an example of how one moron liberal gets repeated by another until all moron liberals except it as truth.

ADDITION:  Thanks for the laugh with your addition!  Military road blocks!  Scenes of torture!  You're killin' me!  Provide a link or shut your American hating trap.

  10. you can protest all you want.but it doesn't give you the right to break the law.america will never look like a cuban airport.

  11. Well, when I went protesting, I didn't get shot, or arrested. A few cops drove by, but nothing happened. A few people flipped me off though.  : /

  12. Well, you probably don't understand what a peaceful protest is. "Keeping the peace" entails protecting the rights of everyone...not just the protesters. For instance: If a group of protesters block an intersection and disrupt traffic then the police must move them. They will scream "we're just peaceful protesters". But, their right to protest does not trump my right to use the intersection. Therefore, they would be disturbing the peace (not very peaceful). So, in the case of TRULY peaceful protests...I would say that you have a 100% chance of being left alone in the U.S. Much better chance than anywhere else.

PS trout, you are a Canadian. why are you so concerned with protesting in the U.S.? Perhaps you should worry about Canada.
