Conserve energy.  Don't stop doing things, do them more efficiently.

Develop alternative energy; nuclear, solar, wind, biofuels.

if you want to help the planet ,plant a tree every week ,if everyone on the planet did we we would be able to slowdown the destructive processes

reduce carbon emisions,and they are already working on that by alternative forms of energy and regulations on carbon producing materials,aerosol cans,burning rubbish,industrial chimneys,powerplants etc.

the capture of carbon and the production of water and assist the aquiferous manta.

the world bank pays large subsidies for reforrestation to capture carbon and the best tree for this is the Pawlonia

Waterharvesting projects ,such as millions of small dams.to redirect over ground waterflows from the rains into the ground to supply subteranian water supplies.

the protection of existing forrests.

stop building more highways,urban planning to include vegetation stop building cities encourage people to return to the land to conduct their business from there which now has become possible thanks to the internet.

education to motivate people to auto sufficiency by building more home food gardens.

education on environmental awareness

education on family planning to curb over´populaion

Agricultural education and improvements to follow the principals or sustainability and soil management.

more environmental or land ,design to prevent bush fires,such as--fire breaks

,more dams.regulations and control for public behaviour

alternative effeciant public transport to discourage the use of the internal conbustion engine

recicling wastes,limit water use

Completly stop burning fuel but it would seem sensless since there are so many other factors thats out of our hands. Whether or not we burn up fuel. The emisions of our vehicles is nothing compared to what could and has happened underneath the ocean floors. Huge deposits of methane hydrate basically turn to gas when come into contact with water. When an earthquake occurs in these area huge deposits bubble up to the surface and can dramatically increase the amount of emissions we have.  If a large enough deposit were hit everything on Earth would be poisened to death by huge increase in gas. On top of this all the sun activity determines the final out come, right now every other planet in our solor system is heating up also. We still should find cleaner alternative fuels to help prevent the increasing chances of getting cancer.

As a society, reduce our use of coal and oil or sequester CO2, mainly by switching to wind, solar and geothermal power, and encouraging conservation.

Personally: Buy a car that gets the best possible gas mileage, that's a two-for 'cause you will save money. Bicycle when you can it's a two-for 'cause it's good for you too. Replace all your light bulbs with compact fluorescent bulbs, that's another two-for 'cause you'll save money. If you own a home install a solar water heater and solar electric panels if you can. The water heater will save, the panels are about break even when you sell the house. And finally fly as little as possible - Jets are big CO2 generators.

This list would make a huge difference if most people in the US followed it. By the way I do.

Don't use A/C in the summer.

Don't use a clothes dryer.

We all know what we can do already, but nobody is going to do it. Use less fuel and elecricity to slow it down.
