  1. He's definitly over-hyped.

Problem with fighters like him that been in the amatauer's so long is it's hard to adjust to the pros. He does a lot of amatauer things, like keep his hands low, and acts as if he still has head-gear on.

Since been in AM so long, the ingreditants are already baked, and it will be close to impossible to correct. He's been in hundreds of fights, and now got to un-learn, re-adjust, his style for the pros.

Also, another problem is how much he's got left? A lot fighters with such long amatauer careers show up in the pros at their peek or past in, and are already fading. Evidence that it's happening with Gamboa teammate HW Solis, who's blooned up to 250 pounds since he's been in the pros, and seems to be burned out of training.

  2. Heavy D I must question what "D" stands for, this kid is to amateurish, not much pop, yah he has knocked guys out but thats his job. Manny & Gamboa is a joke that only fools think is possible. He won't change much because he has developed these habits & has kept them up for to long. Don't be surprised if this kid gets a new corner in his next fight.

The biggest thing about this kid that nobody has mentioned was after the knock down they way he acted in the corner. He looked like a deer in headlights, his corner didn't say much either which shows their lack of experience. Also he fought a kid with a low knock out ratio & hadn't fought in over 13 months not to mention he wasn't anything special. The kid will only go so far, yes he is very athletic but not very skilled  for the pro ranks.

Another factor to his failure is Shaw Promotions. Look at Angulo as well, Shaw puts his fighters in over there head way to soon & before you know it they will get beat by taking fights before they are ready. Shaw doesn't care & it will all be seen soon enough. Top Rank would make this kid a superstar, Shaw does it all the time, his stars fall before they become super stars.

Take all the promoters out there & see who has developed more superstars?

XTRA - listen Gamboa currently has 32 rounds under his belt. Everyone is saying he only has 10 fights but let me give you a professional point of view. Every amateur fight counts as 1 round of a pro fight! got it? this is how most top level trainers look at it, thats why they always talk about amateur experience. Gamboa had over 400 amateur bouts so lets just call it an even 400. Thats 400 rounds & break them down to 6 round fights, that gives him roughly 66, 6 rounds fights of experience. If you break them down to 4 rounders then he even has more, he isn't going to change much, he has developed a style of his own & will not likely change.

  3. I think Max Kellerman hit it on the head; he is very talented, and has a lot of potential, but isn't quite there yet. His chin is also suspect.

You have to keep in mind that he has only had 10 fights so far. It is kind of hard to judge him.

  4. I thought it was a very dominant performance other than the one round where he was dropped.  And even in that round, he was winning easily until he got caught.  What people have to realize is that EVERYONE is going to get dropped sometime in their career, and it is actually better off that he got dropped early in his career so that he can learn from it.  The same thing happened to Andre Berto when he first stepped up and fought Cosme Rivera.  Darling Jimenez was a big jump from the kind of guys that Gamboa was facing before and he handled it very well- throughout the majority of the fight, he didn't even have his hands up and he barely paid for it because he still dominated the fight, and when he got in close, he usually put his hands up.  He has good handspeed, good power, and exceptional footwork; and Jimenez was not a top contender or anything, but he was a pretty good fighter that was there to win, and Gamboa busted him up pretty good.  The other thing is that he has only had 10 fights, and he is already beating guys that you normally wouldn't face until you've had about 20 or so fights.  Usually after 10 fights, you are still facing journeymen with losing records- Gamboa is clearly a hot prospect and someone to watch out for.

  5. hes a bum who cares i bet you would pay to watch him

  6. Talented power and speed. he is going to clean 130-135- and maybe 140.

This guy can beat Floyd easy

I will pay to see Floyd vs Gamboa fight. but we all know what floyd is going to say;"I fight for the money and he is a nobody"

and also paquiao's first *** kicking

  7. WAY OVERRATED!
