So what did we learn from the 49ers beating the bears?

We learned JT O sulivan is are starting QB.

Frank Gore is back and better than ever with this new martz system.

Bruce still has gas in the tank.

Bright futures for Josh Morgan and Jason Hill.

and

Vernon will probably be probowl bound with the new system.

Im so happy about this up and coming season. And its time for the 49ers to take back the NFC West title from the SeaFlops.

I agree with most.

1. JT  is gonna be our strating QB. But that doesn't mean he's gonna be great or even good. I t just means he's better than the 2nd worst starting Qb in the league, ASmith. ( The worst being whoever is starting for the Bears).

2. Never doubted Gore. Loking for him to put up Faulk type numbers. He's already led our team in receptions the last 2 years.

3. Bruce is a mentor at best. I don't think he'll be starting after week 3.

4. Very happily surprised that these 2 young guys are stepping up.

5. VD is a probowl "caliber" player. He needs to put it together on the field.

Definitely better than I first thought, but I'm getting too happy about the preseason. I don't think the Pats have had a winning preseason in like 8 years.

a lot of ignorant people out there. yea it was preseason, so what? it wasnt like they sat all the starters. urlacher, vasher, briggs, harris, brown, ogunleye etc... they were all out there for the first half and it wasnt as if they half @ssed it either.

im not completely sold on JTO, i know he looked great the last 2 preseason games but i really cant envision him as the starter. i think the only reason why he is starting is because he knows the offense much better than smith and hill. there is a reason why he has been cut by 8 teams in the league. but maybe im wrong and he can be like kurt warner or tony romo and come out of no where. i still think smith is the best QB. he just needs to learn the offense better and work with the first team. if he never works with the first team, how can he ever get the timing down. smith clearly has the best arm and athleticism, but as we saw tonight, his timing is a little off. im one of the few smith supporters but i think he can do well.

gore is simply gore, an elite RB in the league, no worries about him except for injuries.

bruce certainly has some gas left, i can see him playing 3 more years or so.

morgan looks legit and is an absolute steal in the 6th round. even if he isnt a #1 type receiver, getting a starter in the 6th round is great. hill was absolutely lost last year, he has improved a lot. happy for the bay area native.

still havent seen a whole lot of vernon yet but he certainly has the skills to be a top TE amongst gates, whitten, and gonzo. too fast for LBers and too big for CBs. he is the ultimate mismatch player.

i dont know if the 9ers can take the NFC West this year, but they will very soon. this 9ers defense can be really really good if everyone is clicking.

That it is still preseason  and that we will be glad when regular season starts.Then we wont be bothered with watching the have nots in prime time. We can watch much better teams playing much better games.

That is exactly what I have been trying to tell people for the last few months.  Mike Martz's system is exactly what the team needed....... as well as finally show that Alex Smith is just not the right QB for the team.  JT O'Sullivan looked great.  The offense was moving the chains, which is something that has not happened in a while.  The 49ers are going to make quite an impact this year.  The full playbook has yet to be unleashed.

All it means is that any team can beat any other on any given day and that in a preseason game most veteran players don't go 100% unless they are trying to make sure they have a starting position in the depth chart.

Prediction: The Seahawks will still rule the West.

what we learned was the 49ers defense is slow and allowed the Bears to score 30 points.. the BEARS!!!!

Frank Gore is a fluke he had 1 good run and thats because Bears were poor tackling on that play

JT O'Sullivan may start but will still be the worst starting QB in the NFC West (Bulger, Hassellbeck, and Leinart or Warner) are waaay better

Bruce has gas in the tank for the first 3-4 games of the season then he dies, plus hes scared of getting hit now. trust me i know im a Rams fan i watched him play last year

I don't think Bruces two total catches this preseason proves anything. Seahawks will still win NFC West, but this will probably be the last year that happens. Don't forget JT is still an undraft rookie who will be running your offense.

Hasselbeck is fine and would play if it wasn't just preseason. Seahawks recievers are way better than the 49rs on any day.

JT is no Kurt Warner and they had Bruce in his prime and Holt and Faulk. Not old Bruce, crappy Johnson, and Gore is no faulk

Do not compare this years 49rs to those Rams you look like a fool

it means absolutely nothing. I am as huge a football fan as anyone else but i cannot stand the preseason, it is just 4 more weeks for possibly injuries. These games are worthless, the colts are terrible every year in the preseason but they always seem to do fine when it counts.
