  1. i work in a library.

  2. Never used it for employment- I own a financial services business.

  3. I obtained a Bachelors in Sociology from Cal State Univ. and then went straight to my masters at USC(University of southern California) in Social Work.( MSW degree)

Now I am a clinical social worker/clinical director at a geriatric assisted living facility waiting to get my hours toward starting my own private practice. (Where I can conduct therapy and bill for it)

-IF you want to be a therapist, social work is a good way to go from sociology.

-Another route is being a program director. (Help the gov't or company come up with efficient programs that help people)

-You can also be a cop, probation officer, etc.! (Police officers get paid alot more if you have a degree in sociology/criminology

-Work for child family services or home health organizations

-As a social worker you can practice in a hospital seting as well

For MOST of these jobs you need to get your masters as well. That's what I did. It is very hard to find prestigious work without a masters degree.  However there arer some organizations where you dont need a masters.

With anthropology, you can write a book on your study or observations of different cultures.

    Teaching is always another option.

    I hope that's helpful.

    Take care.

  4. Got an MBA/CPA.

If that is not for you, perhaps my mistake can help.

My BA in Anthropology was combined with social studies and certification to teach history/econ etc.  Huge mistake!

If I could do it over again I would go hard science - bio/chem/etc.  That would have allowed me to be certified to teach high school science and would have been a huge advantage looking for a job.  Also, adding a math certification would have been tremendous.

Then, I would have had time to complete my original goal - a doctorate in anthro.

    Good luck.
