So what do u think Ponting is a better as a Captain or a Crickter..coz there have been lots of rumours spreading abt him but i always have a feeling he is quite good in heart and soft in nature!So what do you guys think?

He is a softie, his wife says so, there was a short documentary a while ago about him, he does house hold chores and take the rubbish bin out when he's at home and not playing cricket.  Of course he's a different person when he is playing cricket, well its his profession..

certainly punter is far from better as a skipper

he has been an outstanding captain in recent times & playing with great names like gilli, warnie,mcgrath has given him the confidence

You are nuts if you believe that he is good at heart and soft in nature, and that too, after watching the Sydney Test he played against India. He is a good batsman. And that is all. Nothing more. For being a winning captain for so many years, even I would have been as good as him, if not better, if I were to lead such a team.

When India thrashed his team both in Test Cricket and ODIs and also T20, what made you think that he is the greatest captain ever?

well i think he is a very good captain and an outstanding cricketer. he has matched the most test matches won in a row. so obviously he is doing something right. he brought the ashes home-easily! we won the world cup...he is perfect for the role

Ponting is my favorite cricketer. He is an excellent batsman and a very good skipper. I don't think that any one doubts his abilities in either roles.

he joined the team most definatly as a cricketer, and is not a natural captain, but his captaining skills have evolved greatly since he became captain

I do not see him perform in India so far.

L0L. We have not encountered his "heart" either. What we saw of him in Aust. vs India did not show him in good view.

Ponting is definitely bomb.com as a captain. But of course, I always enjoyed watching him play when he was a mere cricketeer.

Ponting is a pretty good captain. He had the best team with likes of Gilly, McGarth, Warne, Langer, Martyn. He was able to use their services well in both forms of the games. We will have to wait to see him captaining the side without their services..
