This has been going on for a while. The Bush cabal are hedging their bets. If Obama can keep holding his numbers, it may still become necessary to cancel the elections.

Nobody cares about civil liberties or abuse of power anymore, they're all busy arguing about abortion or whether evolution should be taught in school.

The comparison is almost an insult to American Idol.

To be painfully blunt, this is the kind of thing the Framers predicted and warned of.

I think they gave us ample methods and power to unite against the federal government if and when we became less "inclined to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right [ourselves] by abolishing the forms to which [we] are accustomed..."

Dr. Paul aside, almost all "permanent members" of the Senate and Lower House are the dead-weight obstructing a peaceable return to Constitutional restraint.

And, while few people can let go of the notion of our President as being the unquestioned "Chief" of our government, most will consider voting out a "nobody" senator or rep. Funny thing, the latter still have the final say...not the pres.

That, then, is our only hope for a peaceful revolution, in my humble opinion.

this is the beginning of the end of a free country that is filled with people that work so hard and so much that they have their eyes closed in sleep, therefore, they do not see what is happening.  do you think they look up what FISA means?  do you think they even KNOW that bush explicitly removes the presidency from following laws enacted by congress by his signing of papers that attach to the bills/laws?  

the war in the middle east isn't to hunt down bin laden--it's to get The Crude.  imagine if The Crude vanished, tomorrow.  terrorists COULD blow up saudi refineries, then, man, oh man,would everyone be in trouble.  so there we are, in the middle east, pretending that we are there to either bring a new form of government to those that were or are oppressed, or that we are there to hunt down terrorists (they are already in the US anyhow...).  we have the perfect set up to stay in the middle east and eventually take over oil fields.  

this election is sooooooooo important because we are now at the changing of an era, an entire long block of time of how humans exist on this planet.  technology is very, very quickly replacing what we as people did in the past. and technology is already on the streets to spy on you and me.  if a state of war is declared to be going on forever giving the president powers outside of what congress does, then we have entirely lost the fantastic beauty (of liberty and freedom) of the usa.  don't ya all think that is very, very important?  big brother awaits your response, right, DAR?
