see my mom and my sis want to finally go to mexico by airplane, but we're no u,s citizens.. so what do you need to get on an airplane in my kind of situation?

An inner tube, just kidding. try asking at the Mexican Consulate assuming you are from Mexico. If not go to the embassy or consulate of your country. They could likely give you a passport.

To FLY to Mexico or any other foreign country you must have a passport from your home country.  You will also need to carry your green card with you...I am presuming you have a U.S. green card.  You do not need a visa.  You will get a tourist card on the airplane.  If you do not currently have a passport from your home country, you may get one by applying at the nearest embassy of your home country in the U.S.  See site below and read the paragraph on "International Travel."
