So what do you reckon to eco towns ?

Brits? The village snobbery brigade don't like this one eh ? But isn't it first things first in that you can hardly have eco places without eco minded residents? E.g. dog dirt, beer cans and take away food litter won't go too well in these joints will they ? Shouldn't you first get the green mentality in place in UK ? Some hope ?

You are so correct. We had one here in Florida. The residents drove so far to get to fast food restaurants in other communities, they were better off before.

You have a good point.  The ideal will be to design things so that they are naturally green within the consumer patterns of the society.  It's nice to live in an eco-community but it doesn't help change overall behavior patterns.
