  1. Firefox killer: maybe

IE wannabe: no, "wannabe/gonnabe better than IE or Fiefox

IE killer: no because IE comes with millions of PCs so millions of folks will just use it.

  2. I think a lot depends on how the beta goes, and although I'm not going to be the first to download it, I am curious to find out what the brave first users think.

At first glance I think some of the features (I like the thumbnails in new tabs, for instance) will be great.  Myself, I use Firefox (IE always seemed so slow to me) and I'm pleased with it, but I'll admit I would change if Chrome got great feedback, so maybe it will kill the fox.

I don't think you can call it a wannabe, unless you mean wanna-steal-your-marketshare.  I do think that if it manages to get enough people's attention (as no doubt the 'unintentional' launch was meant to do), it will have a chance with the IE crowd, again as long as the feedback from the beta test is positive.  Only time, I'm afraid, will tell...

  3. I beg to differ.

I think it's going to be an IE killer and a Firefox wannabe.
