  1. i think he becomes a temporary president if the president is sick

  2. Constitutionally, the Vice President serves as the President of the US Senate and votes only in case of a tie.  That's pretty much it.

Other duties the Vice President performs is up to the President. A Vice President will be as active or inactive as the President wants him/her to be.

  3. Not that much that's why they aren't that important in an election except should the president die or get killed and in Obama case that's more possible than you think.

  4. is a mentor for the president

that's what d**k Cheney told me

  5. they generally work as a representative of the president. the office contains few responsibilities besides the senate president/tie-breaker. but they are expected to help in the presidents duties, and act on his behalf in these matters.

  6. Well if you listen to liberals, then it's the Vice President who is TRULY in charge of the country.  Bush is too stupid to run the country by himself, which is why d**k Cheney is the puppet master pulling all the strings.  Right?

    C'mon.

The Vice President serves as a voice to say the things that the president wishes he could say, but can't.  And personally I'd love to see Sarah Palin square off against Nancy Pelosi.

  7. a vice president is a person whose primary responsibility is to replace the president on the event of his or her death, resignation or incapacity.

If the president is not present, dies, resigns, or is otherwise unable to fulfill his or her duties, the vice president will generally serve as president. In many presidential systems, the vice president does not wield much day-to-day political power, but is still considered an important member of the cabinet.

Potty....that's what the Vice President of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers, Inc does, not the VP of America.

  8.   As they said above,he is a tie breaker in the senate, but just as important,he is the man that sit in with the president on the morning briefings. He's there to take over if the president is incapitated. In the case of Cheney,he and a few other people are running the presidency behind the scene. It's not that Bush is a dummie,it's that he's just not presidential material.

  9. he oversees the senate or congress or something

  10. goes hunting and shoots his friends

  11. 1.  Shoots people in the face

    2.  Waits over a day to take somebody to the hospital that got shot in the face.

    3.  Builds crappy pipe lines in Iraq

    4.  He's the president of the Senate.

  12. take over as president when the aging president dies

  13. I've always wondered that myself. You don't hear very much from them after the election is won.

  14. http://www.evansvilleashrae.org/vprespon...

    That's what they do..

  15. The vice president is an extension of the president, doing whatever the president asks him/her to do, or going where he/she is told to go. The VP is also a tie breaker in the Senate. He/she is the presiding officer in the Senate when issues are stalled and the senators are tied in the decision making process.

  16. You got all of that right even the part of >>to become the most powerful (man) in the USA.   I see you made up your mind already too, but we will still listen to Palin tonight. Everyone has a chance to answer why they waffle, try to get their ex bro in law fired at using State tax dollars for their Atty.   I think some forgets that State or Federal money belongs to we hard working citizens but it can be given away at will, to any Country such as Bush did today, > 1 billion to Georgia. That sure made the GOP platform shake him doing things like that but he is a lame duck and dont care. Have you ever seen any lame duck really care when they know they have to leave office such as the 1/3 of Congress we are not going to re-elect.
