  1. yes it does.

  2. Men and women both do it. It's expected of us in this society...that's why we often have role issues (should we go to work or watch the kids or sleep in?)

  3. Basically it's the ability to walk and chew gum at the same time.   Men are capable of it too!

  4. It's not gender specific. Some men and women can, others can't. I have a female co-worker that goes crazy if she has to focus on more than one thing at a time.

  5. It depends on your p.o.v. really.  Multi-tasking means (to anyone who cares to think about it) a failure to concentrate on the task at hand.  To the feminazi and liberal media, however, it means doing many things at once.  Both men and women have the ability to not finish a number of things at the same time.  The term is meaningless in any real practical sense.

  6. People of either s*x can have their own gifts.  I don't think multi-tasking is something only women can do, and I don't think being strong and brave and such are things only men can be.  Both men and women can be great at these things, but it's on an individual basis which people are good at things and not because of their s*x.  Some women are great drivers (standard), tax preparers and construction, while some men are great with multitasking, office work, home care and cooking.  It really doesn't matter.  I don't believe for one minute there's any need for people to call jobs "womens work"  or "mens work."

    That is just sexist garbage.

  7. Driving a stick-shift car is multi-tasking. I can do that while talking and eating just fine.

    I'm also a man.

  8. multi- tasking- growing a living human in you (baby) while at the same time living your everyday life. That's something men will never be able to do. But that does not mean you can't multi task in different ways.

  9. no, you have to keep trying...don't give up!

  10. multi-tasking ... the ability to play on answers, watch four kids, talk on the phone, watch the news and paint your toenails all at the same time! .....   its a gift! we have to get some kind of gift... we have to deal with everything else men dont have to ... like periods and childbirth

  11. No, any productivity gains they achieve in terms of being able to more efficiently multitask are lost when they are forced to waste time in those long restroom lines.  It's great to be a man!

  12. Multi tasking is being able to do more than one thing at once.  My  husband says that women can't do it, he says it's one of the reasons women are rotten drivers.

  13. It's doing multiple things at once, and a lot of women do it.

Example: She talks on the phone, while doing laundry, while doing taxes, while taking care of the kids.

  14. Its normally refered to as a joke that women can do more than one thing because men use an excuse that they do one thing AND if men did do more than one thing they would muck it up

  15. doing a few things at once no, men shouldnt give up they have their talents too :)

  16. multi-tasking = doing more than one thing at once...

does it prove women are specially gifted? no.. should men just give up? no..

  17. All of the women I know are terrible at multi-tasking.  Well, my mom is ok at it.

Overall, it's a myth that women have some special ability to multi-task.

The reality of it is that they're more scatter brained.  It's not that they have the ability to do multiple things, it's that they lack the ability to stay focused.  Not all of them, but quite a few.  Focus is required for true multi-tasking.

The female "multi-task" usually consists of maybe one constructive thing (two if they have practiced for years) and a bunch of useless things distracting them.  Gabbing on the phone, shopping, eating/drinking, looking at shopping mags, watching some lame reality TV show, ect...

  18. multitasking just means doing more than one thing at a time.

    are women specially gifted, no

should men catch up, yes, never give up

  19. I think that women have evolved as better at multi-tasking due to being the bearers and carers of children.  In the long distant past before contraception women would have had many children and in order to look after them and do all the other chores which fell to the womans lot they had to become adept at doing several things at once.

In ancient times, each s*x had a very defined role that helped ensure the survival of the species. Cave men hunted. Cave women gathered food near the home and cared for the children. Brain areas may have been sharpened to enable each s*x to carry out their jobs

In evolutionary terms, developing superior navigation skills may have enabled men to become better suited to the role of hunter, men also have the more bodily strength in order to hunt and compete with other men.

So don't give up but accept that there are differences between the sexes, none of which make one s*x better than the other.

  20. everyone does it women are the only ones that talk about it

  21. There is yet to be scientific proof on this. I believe like many things it;s a SELF FULLFILLED prophercy. Stating women are good at multi tasking makes them feel confident they can do it. In the same way if people say women are bad drivers, then someone that believes that, she may be unconfident when she starts her lessons and be over careful leading to bad driving.

  22. just different, never give up.

  23. Sucessfully splitting attention between two or more tasks without performance in either task suffering significantly. It's not "specially gifted" but it is a valuable ability. Not all women have it, not all men lack it. Like all ability differences between the genders, there is a lot of overlap.
