My husband had to reschedule the first time for his g-pa's funeral out of state then the second he was late getting there-they hadn't started yet but still told him he needed to reschedule and now the one for today. No excuse just didn't want to go.

  1. The Secret Police comes to take you away.

  2. They will not receive their " economic stimulus" rebate check.

  3. Being on a jury is not proof of patriotism. It cannot be deemed patriotic. It should not be thought of as a "duty".  Juries should only consist of professionals, who's sole job it is to hear cases.  We should have learned from the O.J. Simpson trial that juries can, and will be manipulated.  THAT is unpatriotic.  Besides, lots of people are uneducated, and therefore easily swayed.  After all, look who voted for George Bush!   Why would you want someone like that sitting in judgment of you?   Shakespeare said it best:  "Lets kill all the lawyers".

  4. They will find you......anotherwords, they will send you a renotice for Jury Duty.  There are people that forget to call, and they realize it.  You are in no harm.  I have 3 adult kids, two married and one engaged.....One forgot, they sent a notice of him not calling and/or showing.....he was rescheduled.  We are all human.  That is NOT a matter of life or death...or conviction.  You should do what my son did.... just call to apologize and have them reschedule.  That would be the honest and patriotic thing to do.  It IS because it is what we "should" do as citizens of the USA..  :o)

  5. Not an answer to the question, but someone had the balls to quote Shakespeare (Let's kill all the lawyers) and like most people, got it bass ackwards. That line was said by the villains, who knew the law was the only thing standing against them. Shakespeare wrote that line in praise of lawyers.

  6. Failure to go to court on the date you have been summoned for jury service is a criminal infraction.

You may be fined $121.00 or held in contempt of court.

Payment of a fine does not prevent you from being summoned again in the future.

So in order to avoid this you have to contact the court with a really good excuse as to why you will be missing it.

  7. You can be fined and go to jail. It is a serious offence to dismiss a court order.

  8. Depending on the state where you live, you'll most likely receive a fine. Jail time for misisng jury duty is rare.
