So what the differences between asprin, ibuprofen, aleve, and other well-known OTC pain medications?

Okay, I know the chemical properties of asprin, ibuprofen, aleve, and etc. are different. Meaning, they have different elements and bonds in their chemistry.

What I'm trying to figure out is what is good for ailment?

They all say they are good for headaches, but honestly, one of them has to be different and better than the rest? Is it just a placebo effect and merely advertising? Do they all do the same thing or are there sideaffects of taking too many of certain kinds? I know some people have problems with asprin, and that's why kids asprin exists, but most people do not have these limitations in medication.

So what are the best individual uses and drawbacks for these popular OTC medicines:

(a) Asprin

(b) Ibuprofen

(c) Alleve

(d) tylenol

  1. OKAY

Your Aspirin, Ibprophun (Advil and Motrin) - Aleve are all NSAIDS known as Non-Sterodial Anti Imflamatory drug. Tylenol is an analegesic or pain reliever. Do not take the NSAIDS togethjer, but you can take one of the NSAIDS with tylenol

    It depends upon the ailment.

The NSAIDS are really good for things such as sprained/strained muscles, toothaches, and generally any kind of ailment with inflamation.

For a straight headache, I like Tylenol.

They can all cause liver and stomach problems, especially if mixed with alcohol. As far as the safest pain reliever out there, that actually works on all ailments is Aspirin its all natural from the willow bark tree.

For bad toothache the onlky thing that helps me is the Motrin
