So when will Djokovic reach #2 and how many days left for reaching #1?

Now that Rafa stated it. How long should we wait for Federer to state the same thing about him and Djokovic? :D

Novak Djokovic will move up to the second spot if he wins Hamburg since he is just 300 points behind Rafael Nadal now. I don't know how many days he'll reach the top spot, but if he wants to, he must go far in tournaments that he didn't do well last year and defend all those things he did in 2007 as well. Roger is  way ahead of the others so I don't think he'll get the top spot anytime soon, but he sure is closing the gap.

Nice pic of Nole...looks like he has a knife ready to thrust it into Nadals back. If Nadals foot doesn't heal up in time for his Hamburg start then Nole may get lucky again and benefit from the illness or injury of a better player. If he does pass Nadal it will only be temporary but Rafa is a fighter and will put up a valiant effort at not allowing that to happen. Roger has a large enough lead and is playing better so he should be fine. So Novak getting to #1 is not going to happen.

Have you seen Novak Djokovic play ? Then you`ll no he isnt capable of being #1 never mind #2 !!! :) This is just luck Novak is having, it`ll soon fade out. Rafa wont lose his #2 spot! Nadal is simply saying Novak is pretty close and that its possible....Rafa knows deep down he will remain the true #2 :P Unless Novak paid Rafa to say this lol Rafa Rocks ! Vamos Rafa

Djokovic is definetly going to be number 1 very soon.  Federer is starting to decline; I think its going to be a Nadal/Djokovic battle for the next 4-5 years.

May be hamburg if he has a very good tourney there. He's still got a fair way to catch up with fed and we have to see how fed performs at the frenchy and wimby. He's gotta reach french finals and win wimby to atleast retain those points. So, there's potential for him to lose plenty there. Hamburg also he won, so these next 3 tournies are important for fed also.

I forgot gerry weber open. He can gain points there since he didn't participate there last year.

All he has to do is to do better than nadal in hamburg. If Novak makes the final and Nadal loses in the semifinals, the ranking will be like this: Novak, 5350, Nadal 5310.

The maximum requirement for Novak to be the world #2 is to beat Nadal.

If that doesn't happen, should both of them make the french open final, Novak will be the new #2 even if he doesn't win.

Number 1? If federer fails to defend his points at Shanghai, US open etc. Novak has two titles to defend later this season and a US open runner up. He can gain points by having good tournaments in Cincinnati, Paris, Madrid and the Shanghai, which he didn't do well last year.
