  1. Sounds like your BF left you for the Corps and your Bitter get over it. That said If he has these problem they will find out PDQ and take care of it, let it be.

  2. Leave it alone...everything will come out eventually if it really is a problem. It is not your business!!!

  3. Mind your buisness, fool.

  4. What business is it of yours?  And btw it's their, not there.

  5. Contact the recuiting office in Lansing.

  6. Why would you do that.  He is trying to make something happen in his life and you want to go and sabotage it.  Leave it alone.  If all that is true and he has not recovered, then it will all come out sooner or later.  Don't be THAT person and ruin a good thing for him.  Grow up

  7. Contact your Local Marine Office and let them know, also ask them for the phone number of they're headquarters at the DEP Processing Center. After they give it to you, make sure that you tell them if they do not fix this issue you will call they're CO and inform them or what is happening.

I was also  a Recruiter and I know what goes on behind the scenes sometimes. I am not saying anything about this guys Recruiter because I do not know him personally. But the chances are that unless someone else says something to the Recruiter it will go unnoticed.

Those of you talking about the questions he is asked will take care of it. I don't think so!

Unless you were a Recruiter or have been in the Military , and ever been in extreme situations where you need to know you can trust and rely on the person next  to you. You should seriously shut your mouths! Or in this case, stop your fingers from typing.

Eddie C and everyone Else that is saying it is none of his business!!!!!!!!!

Where do you come off telling someone "not" to report someone that lied in order to join the Military?! Were not talking about someone telling lies about bedwetting or sleep walking here.  Apparently this person has been diagnosed with Bi Polar Disorder and suffers from Depression. Those are serious issues, that can create problems for him and anyone around him in the future. God Forbid he has any sort of episode in Battle, and his fellow Marines cannot rely on him, or worse they have to stop what they are doing to get him out.

There are reasons why those questions are asked. And it is important to that people that do not meet the criteria to be filtered out. Yes this person wants to serve his country. That is a noble and great thing to want to do. However , have you ever considered that it could be extremely harmful to himself and others? I am guessing you don't even think that way.

I served over 6  1/2 years. I spent over 4 years overseas. I have been in some situations where I would not want a Bi Polar person next to me with a weapon that I had to rely on.

I was also a Watch Commander, twice! I had anywheres from 9-15 people working for me. Let me tell you something. It is hard enough on people without Depression Issues being away from they're families and loved ones for such long periods of time especially the holidays. Do you have any idea what the suicide rate is for Military Members overseas during the Holidays? I don't think so. Keep you immature thoughts to yourselves.

"Where do YOU come off relying on some bitter, resentful, spurned jerk, who probably has no real information whatsoever, but just wants to cause trouble to someone she hates"

Really so that is the situation? You personally know the person asking this question and thats why they are asking it?

Well first of all unless you know the person who asked this question personally, then you should not assume that this person "hates the other person and wants to cause trouble for them". Seriously where in the h**l did you come up with that theory anyways?

Second of all, unless you were a Recruiter and know how the process goes for people joining the Military you should not be speaking on behalf of it. Obviously you know nothing about what your saying.

People do not go through Psychiatric Questioning when they join the military. Yes questions are asked but not by Physiologists or Psychiatrists . They are

asked by normal people. In fact in most cases there are just questions on a sheet of paper. Once again you have "NO IDEA" what you are talking about.

And if the person was Diagnosed with Bi Polar Disorder, that is a mental situation, not physical . The doctor examining the person would not be able to say, stick out your tongue and "Oh Your Bi-Polar".

It does not work that way.

All in all none of us here Personally Know the person who asked this question. So in that case we must go on the neutral aspect of the op, and answer the question with  neutral common sense.

    You don't have that apparently.

Actually the truth to the matter is that they legally have to listen to a person if someone comes forward with information regarding a potential Recruit. Now if the person is lieing than nothing comes of it. However if they are not lieing and something does happen, the Recruiter can and usually will be held responsible. Not only will they have an Attrite for Recruiting Goals, they will also have serious legal issues and can be charged with  about a dozen Articles in the UCMJ. They can be reduced in Rank, Forfeiture of pay and actually be sent to prison depending on the severity of the case.

So please unless you actually know what your talking about, don't give other people false information.

I was a recruiter as well as a Navy Cop, and I think I know more than you do on this issue.

  8. Mind your own business..If he truly is this messed up then he will be discovered..

Go on with your life and dont worry about things that do not affect you directly..

  9. Unless you are his spouse, you need to let this go.  He is trying to make a future for himself.  I'm sure if he is bipolar, and it's uncontrollable, they will discover this and deal with it.  The recruiters won't listen to you.  Once he leaves for basic it's out of their mind.  They have no control over what goes on at basic training.

  10. I don't think it really matters.

If he has the problems that you described, they would have been discovered in his physical and psych evaluations given before he was accepted.

But the overriding question is, what business is it of yours? Don't you have anything better to do with your life than to but into other people's lives and spread information that may or may not be true, possibly causing them irreparable harm?

    Edit to Add to Mike:

Where do YOU come off relying on some bitter, resentful, spurned jerk, who probably has no real information whatsoever, but just wants to cause trouble to someone she hates? If the high and mighty military doctors and psychiatrists cannot properly evaluate their recruits and discover who is psychologically unfit for military duty, or do not want to lose any possible recruits regardless of their mental status, then they deserve what they get.

  11. As has been suggested, contact whoever is in charge of recruiting in Lansing.

But I'd suggest you have all the proof up front. Otherwise, instead of him getting dropped, you could find yourself in trouble. They don't want guys prone to going around the bend, but they don't take kindly to people, however well-intentioned, robbing them of potential recruits on false (unprovable) charges.

    ADDENDUM:

I can't believe a Marine would condone, even encourage, lying to the Corps. I can't believe a combat veteran would want a potential "nut case" watching his back... an armed "nut case." Perhaps they'll catch him during processing... but he might get through.
