So who believes in the Mayan theory that the world is going to end in 2012? Personally I think its bs?

The Mayans had a calandar for every year in the future up to 2012. They believed that on December 21st 2012, the galaxy would align with the center of the universe and there would be an apocalypse. Basically we would all be sucked into a black hole.

  1. 2012 is going to be interesting because of all the theories out there. Planet Nibiru is bull, and I don't think any asteroids will hit earth soon. Black holes are not a problem for us, and the galaxy aligning with with the center of the universe is bull. If we have any kind of Apocalypse it will come from humans, Polar shift or someone we all know as Jesus.

  2. and they lived how many years ago?

  3. i don't nessicarly believe the world is coming to an end...

first let me state, any information iknow on 2012 was obtained when trying to disprove this myth, just like i did for 2000.... but this one has alot more 'evidence' (or to the skeptics, coincidences) then 2000, or any prior 'end date'.... soooo many cultures and psychics came to the same conclusion, SOMETHING is going to happen in 2012.... there are a wide range of beliefs of what it could be, but many cultures have forseen this date as something huge, for thousands of years now....

i haven't been around all that time, so i can't say whether it was them independently discovering this date, or if perhaps they're all related to an older 'myth' that history has long forgotten.....

i can tell you, the evidence, even to me as a severe non-believer is startling... and i am concerned about what is going to happen in 2012.... i'm not saying there for sure will be anything, but i personally am paying attention, and actively searching for knowledge and evidence.

  4. no, but many people surprisingly do

  5. after the worlds end on 6/6/06 I just don't think I can tolerate the world ending again!

  6. I have heard that our solar system is heading into a dark rift found on the equitorial plane of the Milky Way too;  who knows, maybe there is a micro black hole there.  I have also heard that the black hole at the center of our galaxy has strong magnetic poles that may reek havoc on our Sun and Earth, once we are in position.  Causing our Sun to eject huge solar flares which will cook anyone that is not in a cave or underground somewhere  and  turning our planet up side down on its axis, flooding the planet, drowning anyone in low lands,  Flattening  mountains and engulfing whole cities.

I Personally won't believe any of that stuff either until I see some more proof.   I want to see an even hotter Earth, some even more killer earthquakes, some more monstrous tsunamis, and a few more "New Orleans".  Until then, I plan on staying right where I am, in the comfort and security of my home.

Still, here is a summary of my research into the Mayan Calendars and their predictions for the time leading to Dec. 21, 2012.

    --------------------------

The following cycles are most relevant to what may occur in 2012. There is the 25,625 year "Galactic Day" and the 5,125 year "Long Count"(Great Cycle). Both of these are set to END and RESTART on the Winter Solstice of 2012 (11:00 UST Dec. 21, 2012):  That is unless we are affected by another 2012 Mayan Prophecy;  I'll get back to that later.

Let's start with the "Galactic Day". As we travel around the Milky Way galaxy, it is my understanding that we do not remain at a constant distance nor at the same orientation in relation to the black hole at its center;  a black hole the Maya refer to as the supreme creator, "HUNAB KU". Instead, we move closer and further from this black hole.  As we move in closer, we simultaneously become aligned  with the Milky Way's equator or "The Tree of Life" as the Maya call it.  Upon doing so, we may become exposed to "HUNAB KU's" opposing magnetic forces which would cause our Sun to eject intense solar flares and Earth to experience a magnetic pole reversal (Pole Shift).  In the years that we have been furthest away from ,"HUNAB KU", we have been dense low vibrating energy and have been experiencing our dark spiritual years: These years have been part of the "Galactic Night".  As we move closer, we become higher vibrating energy and spiritually enlightened beings: These years pertain to the "Galactic Day". We are currently in transition from Night to Day. The complete cycle takes 25,625 years; approximately the same as what modern science has calculated and named "The Precession Of The Equinox Cycle".

The "Long Count" evenly divides the "Galactic Day" into five equal parts (25,625 years / 5 = 5,125 years). It is my understanding that this cycle also coincides with a natural rhythmic beat that is derived from the black hole at the center of the galaxy in the form of an energy pulse. This energy pulse presumably has multiple effects on us and our surroundings. It not only helps us to become enlightened beings for twenty years, but can reek havoc on Earth by creating larger solar flares which can bring drought, famine, earthquakes, volcanic activity, and tsunamis. Twenty years prior to this event, in a period the Maya refer to as "The Time of No-Time",  mild energy spurts, from "HUNAB KU",  create a shift in consciousness; from left-brain thinking to right-brain thinking (from logical to intuitive). This shift can be experienced all at once or gradually at first moving exponentially as we approach the end of the cycle.

There is one more Mayan Calendar I could share with you called "The Nine Underworlds". It is one of the more recently rediscovered calendars and may be the most important one, in so far as the 2012 prophecies are concerned.  It is a calendar that has recorded the state of consciousness from the beginning of time (The Big Bang) to Dec. 21, 2012.  At which time, we will have supposedly consciously evolved to completeness to become co-creators with "HUNAB-KU":  It maps out "creation" if you will. No one knows for sure what to expect since it is the first time anyone will have experienced this since the beginning of time. It is much too involved for me to go into, but I found a video that covers it pretty well; albeit kind of long.

the world is not going to end in 2012. There is no scientific proof, or evidence for that matter. People think that the world is going to end because that’s when the mayan calendar ends. If this is why the world is going to end then we might as well say that the world is going to end on December 31 2009 because no calendars have been printed for 2010 yet. Its an absurd idea that has been shamelessly endorsed by yahoo, google, the news media, and even the history channel.

that’s the short answer. Here’s the long one:

There are a couple theories on how the world will supposedly end in 2012. I will give you examples, and shoot the ideas down for you.

The most popular idea is that planet x, is going to come to the earth and block the sunlight. First of all, it is not “the planet x” it’s “a planet x”. planet x is a generalized term that caught on a couple hundred years ago that was used to describe unknown planets of our solar system. Neptune was once a planet x. astronomers calculated that the orbital period of Uranus was affected by another object, probably a planet, that was beyond Uranus. They calculated the orbital period of this planet x, and found where it would be at a specific time. They saw the planet, and it was no longer considered planet x. it got its name- Neptune. Scientists miscalculated the orbital period of Neptune being affected by another planet, but by chance their miscalculations revealed Pluto. This icy world was also considered planet x, and was first seen in 1930. It was considered a planet until 2006 when it was demoted to a dwarf planet, and now a plutoid. Sedna, quaour, eris, and ceris were all considered planet x’s, and were eventually classified as plutoids.

Now that you know the true definition of a planet x, lets talk about the scientific improbabilities of a planet x that is going to travel all the way to the earth. First of all, I have gone to college, and received a PhD in astronomy and astrophysics and I have never heard of nibiru. According to recent data, there may be another planet larger than earth lying in the kupiter belt. to get to earth it would have to get through the beatings of countless asteroids, and the gravitational pull of the four gas giants of the outer solar system - Neptune, Uranus, Saturn, and Jupiter. I wouldn’t be surprised if it became a moon of one of those planets on its way. Anyway, if it did get through the gas giants, it has to get through another asteroid belt, as well as mars. It will most likely be shot into outer space, or into the sun where it will burn up. If it did manage, by some miracle, to get in front of the earth, it would be in a different gravitational shell. It would be closer, which means it will orbit the sun faster than the earth, therefore it will move away from us. So that’s not going to happen.

Another theory is about the asteroid. Its going to hit earth or whatever. Here’s why it won’t work: the asteroid has to take the same path to get to the earth as planet x, but it is even smaller, and will take more of a beating. If it got through everything, it would just crash into our moon probably. If it did come to earth, the atmosphere would burn it up so much that there would probably be nothing left for it to hit earth.

All other theories are just as absurd. Nothing is going to happen in 2012, except for the same things that could happen any other year.

  8. You'd think that if the Mayans were so amazing at prophesying the future, they would have been able to prevent their own downfall -- maybe not think that the conquistadors were gods.

  9. let me put this in simple terms. ITS A LOAD OF PURE BS

  10. Ancient mythology.  2012 will come and go, and we'll finally be able to get some peace from these insane theories.

  11. Yeah, I think 2012 is utter nonsense.  Then again, so was the last twelve times I heard the world was supposed to end.  :-)

    Does anyone here remember Y2K?

  12. I don't. The Mayans know nothing of galaxies or black holes. They just got tired of writing.

  13. Of course it is true, and since we won't exist after dec 21st, just send me all your money on the 20th. you won't need it anyway.

  14. maybe it is possible. I know that it seems like bs, but I think that people thought that the ark and other biblical things were bs, but sadly were proved wrong. I think God gives some peoples special knowledge to help the rest of us out. So maybe it is true, we'll just have to wait and see.

  15. Grrrrr!.... the MAYANS didn't start this c**p... their calendar ran in cycles... 2012 was just a date for the ending of one of their cycles.... and they hoped that mankind would then enter a 'new' way of living ... better, hopefuly..... they calculated a spot where the SUN would APPEAR to cross a line in the MilkyWay as it's seen at night in clear skies..... THAT"S IT..... no doomsday..... that crappiola came from some unsavory characters in OUR TIME......

continue to disbelieve the whole mess.... you'll be the smart one......

  16. Do not worry.  Do not be scared.  I assure you that the world will not end on 2012 December 21 but it will end one day.  Nostradamus’ prediction of when the earth will end is far into the future, past about 3700.  He still has many prophecies that are not fulfilled yet.  Remember that if there is a beginning, there is an end.

The Mayan’s Mesoamerican Long Count calendar forms the basis for a New Age belief, first forecast by Jose Arguelles, that a cataclysm will take place on or about 2012 December 21 (Wikipedia).  It will be the end of a Mayan calendar cycle to start a new cycle.

In the book of Revelation, it tells us about a period of a thousand years of peace. Has this occurred already since the time of Jesus? Not yet. That will still come. Those that give predictions of the world’s end, such as 2012 and numerous times during the past, are pseudo-preachers. Have they talked to God directly? If so, give proofs.

But there is something that is certain—and that is our physical death. This is what we should prepare for. It may come when least expected. We do not know the day and the hour. It will come like a thief in the night. So we just have to be prepared all the time. Search for the true God and when we find Him, follow His commandments and remain in Him until our last dying breath.

This is all that we have to do. It is faith in the true God that we can take with us when we depart from this world. If we denied Him, He will deny us also before the Father in Heaven and send us to h**l. This is very scary – to live in h**l forever.  If we knew Him and loved Him and followed His commandments, then He may reward us to live with Him eternally in His kingdom in Heaven. This is the survival kit that we should have.

What is also certain to happen very soon (in about 2012 or earlier) is World War III and this is a nuclear war.  This calamitous war will start from the Philippines, at Spratly Islands in particular.  The Spratly Islands lie on the South China Sea mostly near the coast of the Philippines.  The Holy Spirit told us that the troubles in the Philippines is like the wick of a lamp.  Once the wick is lit, it will be on and aglow.  He told us about this prophecy more than a decade ago.  Please read what is happening in the Philippines now.  Spratly Islands which is being claimed wholly or partly by six countries including China is in the news and considered a tinderbox, a flash point.  It is very rich in oil and gas resources, more than the reserve of Kuwait.  The high price of oil may trigger the grabbing of these islands and start the war.

Four independent prophecies point to the certainty that this will happen.  These are Nostradamus’ prophecies to happen around this time (quatrains 6:24 and 2:62) , the 56th Chinese prophecy of Tuey Bei Tu (the past 55 prophecies have already been fulfilled), Revelation 9:18 of the Holy Bible, and those that the Holy Spirit revealed to us.  If you are interested in the details about these prophecies, please send me your request via email.

  17. First of all, the actual date that the Mayan Calendar starts and finishes is disputed and refuted,

But let's assume that 12-12-2012 is generally the accurate date the 13th b'ak'tun will end.

"But the Mayans said nothing about anything beyond that date!!!"

No, they were aware of the 14th b'ak'tun.

In fact, the Mayans knew of previous cycles, (and ones to come)

as the Long Count calendar was actually sort of short for them, calendar wise.

They had different calendars to make up for this.

Now, assuming December 2012 is the end of anything even though it's unlikely,

the Mayans speak of 2012 as the beginning of a new golden age.

That doesn't sound so bad, does it?

The Mayans we're an amazing people, they made an amazing calendar, and their stargazing and solar mapping is awe inspiring.

But they never talk about "cataclysms" or "end times", it's all about rebirth baby, yeah baby yeah.

The guy behind the doomsday nonsense is José Argülles, he started this end of the world rubbish.

The Mayans did not predict the end of the world, José Argülles did!

So before you build a bomb shelter and buy a bunch of assault rifles, remember:

4772 October 12 AD (the non translated Mayan date that might be December 2012)

is not the end of anything friends, but maybe the beginning of something better, if you choose

to believe in any of this silliness.

    So it's win/win!
