They've drawn for post position for the Kentucky Oaks, and here's the field:

1-- Dawn After Dawn (Robby Albarado, 30-1)

2-- Cash Included (Corey Nakatani 12-1)

3-- High Heels (Joe Johnson 6-1)

4-- Octave (John Velazquez 6-1)

5-- Cotton Blossom ( Edgar Prado 8-1)

6-- Grace Happens (Willie Martinez 50-1)

7-- Dreaming of Anna (Rene Douglas 5-1)

8-- Swift Temper (Julien Leparoux 50-1)

9-- Tough Tiz's Sis (Victor Espinoza 10-1)

10-- Autobahn Girl (Eddie Castro 15-1)

11- Rags to Riches (Garrett Gomez 5-2)

12-- Sealy Hill (Patrick Husbands 20-1)

13-- Mistical Plan (David Flores 12-1)

14-- High Again (Cornelio Velasquez 12-1)

So who do you favor? I'm thinking Cotton Blossom will wear the lilies in the winner's circle on Friday.

  1. Sealy Hill

  2. im boxing 2,7,9,11,12 and 2,7,9,11,13 in the trifectas and superfectas... buying a nice mojita or two then relaxing to watch the race... I never make a big deal out of the Oaks...or even the Derby for that matter... I prefer playing small purse races with big fields for the exotic payoffs... Derby day is when the tracks are packed full of 2 dollar bettors and amateurs...hard parking, bad traffic, and impossible to get to a window...sheeshhh

  3. I love the ponies. Put 10 on #8 I've heard of 'em and like "em to. I'll take 8 for 100.

  4. I am taking Octave, I have her in the future pool and have been on her since Breeders Cup night when I was told Douglas said he was beat at the top of the stretch, but somehow Anna hung on.  The only other horse close to her was Octave so she's my pick, Anna won't get the same trip this year.  Rags has been very impressive so far, but is lightly raced and will go off way lower than Battaglia's brutal morning line.  Like a few others so far on here I also like Sealy Hill, I saw her win the Stake as a 2yo and was very impressive that day, she regressed a little in her last 2 starts, but should be tight and sharp off her Bourbanette win.

  5. I LOVE Sealy Hill, but am a bit concerned with the #12 post position. I've been high on Dreaming of Anna since she beat the colts at Woodbine last year, but she'll be bet down so I will stick with Sealy Hill.

  6. My heart wants Dreaming of Anna to win. My fiancee is named Anna, plus I think she's a beautiful horse who can run well. I was so proud of her in the BC Distaff. BUT, my head thinks Rags to Riches is going to win. Don't count out any horse ridden by Edgar Prado though, he alone gives Cotton Blossom an advantage. I just hope it's an exciting race, but one that is safe and none of these beauties gets hurt.

  7. I have two longshot picks, Autobahn Girl and Sealy Hill. I think that both horses may be peaking at the right time. Also, they are likely to come from off the pace, and there is a ton of early speed in the race. I'm looking for the race to unfold like last year when Lemons Forever got up late at 40-1.

Regardless though, you should get a good price on any horse if youcan beat Rags to Riches and Dreaming of Anna.

  8. Rags To Riches or Dreaming Of Anna!!!!

    woooo! lol

P.S. even though I am not that big of an Oaks fan, I go for the Derby but the Oaks is still fun too.
