So who really cares if the Chinese-gymnast (HE KEXIN) is 13 or 3? ?

The USA has great women-gymnasts and our medals are proof of this fact. BUT...Kexin (little girl she may very well be) handled her business (like a grown woman) on the uneven bars the other night!

AND, if the truth is to be faced and told with boldness, then Kexin and her teammates are making the US work for every medal!

  1. because when people are younger they tend to be more flexible, which obviously isnt fair to older people who are competing.  how'd you like it if you had to workout all day and night to be flexible, and someone who is flexible just because they  are younger competed against you. it wouldnt be fair.

  2. The IOC sets the rules. The rule states a gymnast must be 16 years of age in the Olympic year to compete. There is too much evidence that three members of the Chinese women's team are under 16 years of age. The issue here is the fact that the IOC is ignoring the evidence, turning a blind eye. Maybe they're too afraid to embarrass the host nation or maybe their real motivation is the revenue they're making in this olympic year. Either way the IOC's credibility is forever damaged and the Olympic games are equally tainted for years to come. It's as if the IOC is acting like a political special interest group, protecting the Chinese government. The Chinese after all are very well known world wide for the rampant corruption that runs through their every day busisness and political lives.

  3. I care! Very much actually! If she really is 13, that's like lying to the whole world... oh wait it IS lying to the whole world! Its also dangerous to compete before your bones are fully grown. That's why they activated the age restriction! The US might've won the gold too(might've key word), I think that's reason enough to care!!

  4. People care because the legal age to compete is 16. They would be cheating and as we all know...cheating is wrong.

  5. We care because she is good and shouldn't be in the competition because she is underage, also known as CHEATING

  6. I don't think we will ever know if He Kexin or the other two Chinese athletes in question are 16 or not. There seems to be some evidence that they are not. This is not just a Chinese problem. With the other scandals that always seem to accompany the Olympics (doping, scoring, cheating) this is just one more chapter. No country including the US seems immune from these scandals. It's OK to root for your country, I root for the US athletes but once it's over I appreciate the winner whatever country they come from. I can appreciate the struggles that individual competitors go through and the importance to me has always been the wonderful achievement that "just being an Olympian" must be. Being at the Olympics should be a wonderful experience and rewarding experience.

However, having said this, if they are younger than 16 it seems a shame that dishonesty is, once again, being rewarded. What about the competitor (or country) that is playing by the rules and performing with honor and integrity? And what does it do to the young Chinese girl that maybe is physically injured by the rigorous training or has to lie about her age when in all probability that young girl could perform in the 2012 Olympics when it, rightfully, becomes her turn. And what does it do to the sport? Or teach other young people aspiring to becoming an Olympic athlete?

Although I don't know the answer, it certainly saddens me that such corruption exists at what could be such a marvelous gathering. Add Man is right, thumbs up, in this case it really is a reflection of a whole government and governing body.

  7. yea i was just reading about that..

it all seems so confusing haha

but theres no denying that shes freaking amazing so thats it.

  8. BECAUSE THAT IS CHEATING, AND ISN'T CHEATING WRONG?

    Yeah, that's what I thought.

The U.S. Gymnastics team would have won GOLD if it wasn't for China, CHEATING.

  9. i care and so should alot of people.. their like 70 lbs .. the younger you are the easier it is to be lighter.. which is a clear cut advantage in gymnastics... its not a matter of maturity its a matter of the advantage of being lighter...

  10. He Kexin rocks!  She's amazing!
