Obama doesn't need to do a thing.  The Bush administration screwed up with Katrina, so it is the republicans job to take care of this.

They have been getting coverage.  You should pay closer attention.  Obama and Biden were campaigning in Pennsylvania and Ohio.  Obama has announced he will ask his supporters to help the Gustav target area. He will work with aid agencies and gov agencies to see what would be the best way to help (sending cash, volunteers, supplies) and then ask his supporters to pitch in.

Obama has said he will visit the area but only if his visit won't interfere with the aid operations.  He doesn't want to add to the burden of local officials and police.
