  1. Some animals eat the larvae of mosquitoes and it makes up a large portion of their diet. I wish we could eradicate mosquitoes too since I believe that I lost a dog to west nile. (I found him dead one day not long after the west nile virus was announced. Could have just been a coincidence).

  2. I wish mosquitoes would go away also, I have a horse, dogs, and little hens.

    Not to mention grandchildren.

But, they are a necessary part of the food chain, I am sorry! many beneficial insects and reptiles and amphibians, and fish use the larvae especially for food.

So some one want to tell us why there are yucky ticks???

  3. because other animals eat mosquitoes and if we killed them all those animals would in turn have problems, so the best thing to do is make sure your yard has no sources of standing water for them to breed in

  4. Well actually it is for the sake of the food chain. Even though there are many other bugs, wiping out an entire species would have some very negative effects.
