But I heard it had something to do with the people escorting the bodies home from Iraq wearing red arm bands or something. And why did it start? Isn't red more for aids and then there was the red dress thing so I'm just confused.

  1. This idea has been around for a while, but I just recently heard about it. I wanted to turn this into a national tradition. As I've said before, I am just an average person. But regular everyday people can sometimes do amazing things. Please help me to do that with this. Please help me to make our entire country red every Friday, and send a message that we love our country and support our troops!

So wear a red shirt every Friday, and if you want to do something more for our troops then click here or on the link on our sidebar for the Any Soldier web site. You can choose who you send letters or packages to, and know that it will go to a soldier who is somewhere in harms way.

Thank you for stopping by, and please spread the word to everyone you know to Wear Red on Fridays to Support Our Troops!

  2. I don't think its a dumb idea, I think it's good that people acknowledge our men and women in uniforms sacrifice.

I know liberals don't like it, they scorn and discourage people from wearing it for all the wrong reasons.

    Not every clown can volunteer.

  3. Although it may be a nice gesture but, wearing a simple red shirt doesn't exactly show your support for our men and women in uniform. That goes for those ridiculous car magnets too.

Show your support by sending care packages, becoming the pen pal of a service member stationed in Iraq and/or Afghanistan, or become an active volunteer at your local USO (if you have one) or any other military related organization, and be well informed of what the men and women in the military really do.

  4. I forget who started the red shirt thing. . . I think its the dumbest thing ever.  Support me and mine by being informed on the issues facing the military and volunteering at the  VA.  Any clown can throw on a red shirt.

People escorting bodies typically wear black arm bands vs. red and military personnel never wear arm bands in uniform.

The Red Dress is for heart disease.

  6. When I'm sweating my butt off in Iraq, I could care less what somebody back here is wearing.  It might make you feel good  and that's okay.  But  it doesn't do much for me.

A nice care package goes a loooooong way.   I don't really care what's in it.  Its cool just to get mail.  Letters are good too.  Maybe you could adopt a service member?
