Question:

So with the Olympics almost here....have you ever almost made it there?

I was a county gymnast as a teenager and would have been in the Olympics aged 16...unfortunately I was so shy that I got the stage fright at the trials. I was in the top 3 in Britain for a whole year.

I was an amazing gymnast though....who knows maybe one day I'll get back to that standard!

    Due to family commitments I've decided to decline the offer to attend the Olympics

    It still hurts to talk about it.....

I actually beat the guy who won a bronze medal in table tennis once a long long time ago not one that done so in the last ten years by the way, admittedly he was drunk and was standing on one leg holding a pint of guinness in one hand. But I beat him fair and square. No one else could but I did I am proud of that could only have been easier if we blindfolded him.

    And i was 3rd runner up in the Soft Ball championship,Steph and Mrs Grohl pipped me at the post :(

  4. Yeh i really was into swimming but then i got really self conscience about wearing a costume for some silly reason and quit !

    Maybe you should get back into it, a lot of adults do still do gym!

    Dont listen to people on here they are just sad and you shouldnt even bother to respond to them.. good luck with your degree!

  9. I was swimming champion in my town (front crawl)....I was nominated for the olympics but i just started work so had to let it go. I've since swam the channel 4 times and i'm now in training for an Atlantic crossing.

  10. I went to Atlanta the day of the Olympic bombing there. That's enough Olympics for me.

    A barrister, accountant, studying german, having a career, three wonderful kids, volunteer in a hospice, a nurse. Now you're a former conuty gymnast, My you must have a full life.

    Incidentally I was a Regional winner of Disco dancing up until the age of 18. and I still have ALL my medals and certificates.
