Question:

Soaker Hose or Install it as a zone in Sprinkler - which is better?

I need to either use soaker hose (cheaper alternative) or have another zone installed in my sprinkler system for watering around the foundation (12 inches away)

Has anyone used later option ? Is it worth spending $400 to add the new zone for foundation watering ?

Thank you in advance

  1. Go with the soaker hose.  Just make sure you buy a good one.  The soaker hoses will allow you to water any point in the day and you won't burn the plant, or cause fungal diseases to grow on the plant.

  2. i agree, the soaker hose is much cheaper and if you ever decide to move your plants, all you have to do is move the hose, not install or move a new zone

  3. use what is called NEDEFIM tube instead of soaker hose . soaker hose rots after about a year .NEDEFIM tube is made of a durable plastic that will last forever ,and yet is flexible ,and comes in a roll ,brown to blend with mulch ,and available at home depot at about 20 cents per foot.

  4. I go with soaker hose its cheaper and does the same thing as sprinkler system.  Save $400 and buy something nice to put in your house or outside.
