Every time i wash clothes the soapy water that drains out the washing machine goes into the toilet and we cant use the toilet because when you flush the water starts to overflow. The toilet and washing machine are on the same wall. why is this happening and what should we do to fix it?

  1. Your drain line for the toilet and washing machine is restricted. Almost clogged up. Get a plumber's snake and run it thru. The only other possibility is the air vent pipe is clogged.

  2. I would definitely call a plumber. Something is wrong with the drain that the washer is emptying into. See if you can redirect it.
