In tribute to the great man i will ask a question

In what way do you think Sobers affected international cricket?

Where do you rank him in terms of great players?

Will West Indies ever produce another Garry Sobers?

Most complete test match player ever. There are no words to describe the brilliance and the all round performance of this player. I do not think any other player can be equal to this player. He created the all rounder concept that produced great all rounders like Richard Hadlee, Imran Khan, Trevor Goddard, Ian Botham, Tony Greig, Kapil Dev, etc.

hes the one of the symbol of cricket... he prove that one person could bat and bowl well.....

hes in the top five players of all time in my list

nooooooooo.. this kind of players born in 100 years.. but i thought it will be only one like gary sobers in WI... im not sayin the word world cause kallis name will also be talk as like sobers

Gary Sobers was a legend, a naturally talented athlete of the highest order.  A great batsman, bowler and fieldsman.  He is an ambassador for cricket not just the WI.

I rank him as the greatest all rounder although I think that not only will the WI struggle to produce a player of that ilk so will the rest of the world.

Happy birthday Sir Garfield! I think players of his standard only come along once in a life time, but having said that, WIs have a habit of producing such cricketers ocassionally & I think they will again.I for one hope so. Sobers was one of the best all round good cricketers of last century, a joy to see play & a great sportsman.

Sobers deserves to be ranked as one of the all-time greats. He helped turn West Indies into a great side, as opposed to a very good one. He was their first superstar.

In terms of the great players, he is probably the greatest ever all-rounder.

You can never say never, but it is unlikely we will ever see another Sobers.
