It has been my experience that the panda express restaurants in northern california have orange chicken that tastes different than those in southern california. the orange chicken in, for example, santa barbara looks darker and tastes spicier or something than that of places like fresno, or san jose. why is that, do they use a different recipe? and are there differences between states as well, outside of CA?

  1. All recipes have the same formulas and ingredients. The times when the flavor changes is due to the wrong mixture or measurements by the cooks when they prepare it.

  2. I don't know about N. Calif. but the ones in L.A. and Las Vegas are the same...

  3. I don't know about that?  I've had some pretty spicy Orange Chicken at Panda Express' here in So. Cal.  Anyway, it doesn't really matter to me because I think Panda Express' food is overpriced no matter where its located.
