  1. It is called Football.  If you look on the jerseys, it says "Australia Football"

Then there's Rugby Union and Rugby League.

There's also AFL, which is just called AFL.

  2. Defently should be called soccer - its soccer and not football.

  3. Soccer - there are many Football codes and Soccer is one but trying to dominate the general term australia wide is frankly a little arrogant.

And for those who make the empty argument about Soccer being the only or original football. It wasn't - early 'football'' included handling - that is why the Rugby Football/ Association Football split happened.

There are semantically called FOOTball not because you kick it but because it is played on foot as opposed to the noble sports played on horseback.

  4. FOOTBALL all da way

soccer sounds g*y football sounz kool it would be called football if some randoms didn't invent afl

but i love afl and i am a 5th year hawks member

    go me

  5. No, it should be called soccer.  To me. Football is AFL, and Aussie Rules, and I am proud to be associated with it, as something uniquely Australian (OK,I know they played a form of our football in Scotland).  It IS NOT  rugby or soccer, it is FOOTBALL, and has it's own unique rules.
