Soccer Players?

My fiance played soccer last year for a local YMCA adult league. The team he played on and teams he played against were pretty good. They have all played before.

I am very athletic; i run a lot, play volleyball and racquetball and go to the gym often.

My fiance and his team asked me to play soccer this year, and i have never played the sport except for the mandatory soccer games back in highschool gym class which were far from the "real deal"

Can anyone please give me an idea of what i should start working on work out wise to be prepared for the brutal workout on the field i will get. I have some soccer "skills" for never playing, but with that said PLEASE HELP!!!!

  1. not sure sorry

  2. Work on your ball skills. Try dribbling the ball around obsticles and maybe ask your fiance to practice together. Make sure you have the basic skills to pass and dodge and then you can pick the rest up as you play.

  3. ~Well, the average professional soccer player runs two miles a game, so work on stamina.

~Agility would also be good to work on.

~Just play around with a soccer ball to work on foot-eye coordination.

    ~Strengthen your legs.

    ~Kicking accuracy.

***It is a sport, so like any others, you have to practice. You can't just pick up a soccer ball and kick it a mile.

  4. wark on passes, shooting, and dribbling with th ball, you also have to run alot
