  1. if you would stick to tennis just train over the summer.. soccer is a team sport!

  2. Well, I used to play soccer, which helped my legs in the long run.  But I quit it because it got boring after awhile.  Tennis can use the muscle that are in your legs that you endured to run back and forth.  Where then you would need to train your upper strength.

  3. To help prove you endurance you should get your footwork working, soccer will not help that much since soccer is a team sport and tennis is more and less a single played sport.

If you really need help on your footwork, do some squats, they really stretch your muscles and expand them so you can run and walk fast and not get tired as easily.

This would be a great idea to do over the summer as it will extremely help everything with your footwork and leg muscles, another idea is push ups put putting your weight onto your legs, that will make a great way too.

    Phil.

  4. You can do both can't you? Thats what I do in the summer usually I play tennis on the weekdays for the techniques and muscle memory for shots, and then on weekends I work hard on soccer to improve speed and endurance. It works pretty well because I cream my whole team when we do 51's

  5. You can certainly do soccer recreationally to help with endurance in tennis. Cross training is always a good thing; keeps things interesting and works different muscles and skill sets. Have fun!

  6. I think you should just train tennis, even soccer train helps.  If you join a team, your coach will tell you what exercise you need to do.

  7. Soccer is a team sport and you play with other teammates.

You can be a moderate skillful player and yet be in the team and

as long as you do minimal efforts of tackling, dribbling, and

passing the ball - you will be OK.

Tennis is more of an individual sport where you need solid

footwork, skills with handling the ball and you need more

    energy in tennis than soccer.

I would say do both and concentrate a lot on your tennis game.

This is game you can play for ages and where as soccer as

you grow older it will be hard to chase the ball around.

I am pretty old and in my younger days I played plenty of

soccer, cricket, hockey, volleyball and many other sports. But

in the last 8 years or so I have picked up tennis and I enjoy

    it a lot.
