Im thinking about going out for soccer or cross country this fall for my high school. Im going to be a junior and am 6ft 165lbs. Ive got speed, endurance, and strength. I played soccer from 1-7th grade and want to join back again but im not sure how ill do. For cross country, the experience ive had running is track(400m). Which one should i choose?

  1. ooo ok unless you have A LOT of endurance i would not suggest cross country... it takes more than just doing the 400. you need to be able to keep ur pace up for a long period of time

soccer especially cuz u did it for so long and your good at running short distances

  2. Soccer

  3. XC

  4. By how you will do, I think you will be more suitable for soccer.  But you can't really know until you try.

You have the speed and experience for soccer so training should be a lot easier.  Personally, I love cross country a lot more than soccer.  People call it 'boring' and 'pointless' but that's their opinion.  To me it's amazing.  Races also depend on you and only you.  You mess it up for yourself, no one else.  Running a good race is a reward for yourself.  It's a lot more independent and mental.  I like it better that way.  But perhaps you like working with teams more.

It's your preference.  Hope you make a good choice. :D

  5. soccer, it's much cooler and you have more fun.....

  6. well i would say cross country since i LOVE RUNNING, but a 400 is only 1 lap and cross country is 3 miles, so do cross country. Soccer is boring and no one likes soccer

  7. because im a cross country runner im going to have to say def. cross country because the team is so much fun and everyone is just so close and friendly. but i know that if you do something you dont truely love you will hate it. so maybe talk to both of the coaches and see if theres any way you can do both. then im sure that by the end of the year you will know which one you like better and you can focus on that your senior year.

  8. Can't do both? Bummer. two of my favorite sports (along with rugby)

I'd do soccer. the 400m isn't ANYWHERE close to where you need to be for cross country.

NOW GO KICK SOME BUTT! and rock your face off :]

  9. CROSS COUNTRY!!!! it is like the most amazing sport ever!!! it is SO much fun, and i have had so many good memories with it. its hard as h**l, but definately worth it. it makes your body and mind tough as a rock. soccer is for woosies who cant take running 12 miles :) haha.

no one ever gives xc a chance, but it really is amazing!!!!!!
