  1. figure skating!!!!!

i do ice skating and have been for 13 years!!! its the best sport u can do!!! and who sez its not as athletic as soccer!!!

my god! my coach pushes me to the max! i can barely breathe wen i finish! but thats only bcoz she wants me to be the best and do well in my competitions.. =]

personally ... i wld pick figure skating =]

  2. figure skating.. it's hard but more funn.. and you can do tricks, and have fun.. i'd say soccer is like you know, you can do tricks with the ball, but i just like skating.. because there are more challenges, and different types.. soccer is the same.

  3. Well i love figure skating more. But figure skating is for more like fun to me, not like a team or a contest. Soccer well it is better for teams and championships and more. But both are great. If you are like entering a team well go to soccer. If you are going to like go for  a trip or something go to ice skating, i mean figure. Both are the same fun for me!

  4. Figure skating is fun, but it needs a lot more practice that soccer. You can also get hurt skating (but you can too in soccer, you gotta hate it when you get the ball kicked in your face! lol). I would pick skating, I would think of it as more rewarding than soccer for your 'personal archievements', but if you want a team sport, you could do syncronised skating.

Also, it might be easier to get to a local park for soccer than an ice rink. Soccer would also be cheaper skating can cost up to (and over) $1500 a year.

Anyway, whatever you pick I hope you enjoy it.

P.S this is the ice skating 'help board' so your probably going to get most people saying figure skating, try putting your question on a sport board as well (although the same might happen).

Remember its what you really want that counts, not other people oppinion!

Good luck with your new sport!

  5. Hmmm, while I'm trying to be unbiased, that's a hard choice because they're so different!  :)  Could you do both?  You might find that they complement each other well.  The strength you gain from skating could help with soccer and the endurance you build in soccer would help in skating.  Do you have the opportunity to try both out before making a choice?  Obviously soccer is a team sport, so you have friends there on your team that you practice with and see at games.  Skating can be more of a solitary sport, but you do make friends at the rink, who are there while you practice and cheer you on at competitions, plus you could join a synchro team if you really enjoy the team spirit.  Both sports require a lot of hard work.  Soccer you can usually participate in through your school and you can be on different teams all through school.  Skating is most often not a school-related sport.  Some schools have skating programs, but there are very few.  Skating you can do for a lifetime, while in soccer, there aren't always leagues to join.  Skating you can go on your own and not have to worry about the rest of the team being available.  Also you can compare the "glitter" of skating to the "mud" of soccer.  :)  Maybe go check out some people practicing -- go watch a team practicing for a game and go watch a freestyle.  Talk to the players and skaters.  I know some that do both!  Good luck with your decision!

  6. figure skating

  7. They both rock! I do both. Soccer is more athletic but it still rocks!

  8. soccer

figure skating no body watches anyway

  9. Figure Skating is really fun, If you have a skating rink nearby. But if you have to drive 30 mins or soemthing to get there I would do soccer.

And I loooooove soccer so I would do soccer either way.  =)
