  1. just give it your all. be aggressive as heck (coaches tend to notice that =]). just at practices and tryouts, go fr mid.

  2. good foot skills, speed and endurance.  just practice on those things.

  3. Show your coach that you have a good level of endurance.  A good midfielder should be able to run the length of the field repeatedly without tiring.

Receive and control the ball.  A big part of being a midfielder is taking the ball from your defenders and distributing it to your strikers.  Keep your passes crisp and accurate.

Look for players making runs down the field, and play long balls past the defense so that they can run onto it.  After making this pass, don't just stand and watch the play develop, continue running down field in order to receive a pass back.

If you are playing as an outside midfielder, stay as wide as you can.  Your coach will appreciate this a lot because it spreads out the field and stretches the defense, adding a lot of room in the center of the field for plays to develop.

  4. Make sure you have good stamina. And make sure you can run for a long time. Just keep working on your foot skills and crossing the ball and you should be okay! I always move from defense to midfield. But at the moment I'm an inside mid :) Good Luck!

  5. U hhave to be abble to make accurate and crisp passes, and always be aware of were u should be on the pitch. Try to be vocal because midfielders are usually team captains!

U have to move a lot on and off the ball and at the right plases, and I can't emphesise making good passes enogh! And work on your stamina because u have to be really fit to play midfield!
