  1. This does not sound like a good career opportunity.

It may be interesting to study, but you may be unemployable.

Consider a major in Business and a minor in SA.

  2. Social Anthropology is usually studied in Graduate School.

  3. I found it very interesting. Before i started I used to think about all the differences between people and cultures. After, I realized we are basically the same.

  4. i got a friends daughter who did it in reading uni.  interesting course and if academically inclined can go far with it.  edinburgh uni is very good

  5. I actually do Modern Chinese Studies at the University of Leeds, but the University of Leeds Department Of East Asian Studies offers a few undergraduate modules in South East Asian anthropology: [Thailand, Indonesia, etc.]  Employers like students with language degrees, so you could also look into studying doing a language and culture degree course in a university, and take elective modules in anthropology.  If you do Social Anthropology on its own, your employment prospects will not be so good.  Of course, it's up to you...

Having done one anthropology module at Leeds, it is interesting, it was a broad sweep of the anthropological disciplines [the modules was in my First Year.]  It all depends on how much breadth you want to your degree. Good luck with your application and exams!
