Social Anthropology question?

I have to write an extended essay (4000 words i think) on a topic of social anthropology but dont know what to use. I dont have any "real" background on the topic but i want a topic that i can get into and is exciting ( i know that opinionated but anything will help:))

I don't think anyone can write anything that is not part of his or her particular interest, so you should ask yourself what you are interested in today (and what information do you have at hand on that).

Violence (as in Virginia), sports, food, graffiti, pets, etc., can be social anthropology topics if you try to find their relation with social activities and values.

I can suggest two books:  The Selfish Gene by Richard Dawkins and The Evolution of Desire by David Buss.  Both are about the evolution of behavior and how those ancient little homonids influenced our behavior today.
